The food was pretty good but the service was SLOW. The staff were incredibly pleasant but the processing of orders was glacier-like. I don’t know if they weren’t fully staffed in the kitchen. The atmosphere was like a typical roadside stand: picnic tables. The view of the lake is gorgeous. This would be a good place to stop for lunch on a motorcycle trip.

I’ve been stopping here now for over 5 years. It’s my go to place for fried clams when I’m back in New England. I’ve made regular trips to HMA from Houston, TX and northeastern Ohio where I currently live. Highly recommend their yummilicious classic New England clam shack fare!

We’ve enjoyed their food immensely, but when stopped for ice cream it was a frustrating experience. The flavors were posted, but no menu of whether they have sundaes, or cone types, sizes, etc. I asked at the ice cream pick up window and was told it should be by the order window, it wasn’t. He came back with a handwritten list of flavors, but I said that’s posted outside, what about an ice cream menu. The response was “the place we got our ice cream from burned down.” What!? I gave up. When we got to the order window, i noticed a pile of ice cream menus inside the window. None outside. Duh. Get my ice cream and the waffle cone had a huge hole in it, and proceeded to crumble in my hand. Help is difficult to find, but there’s no excuse for not even attending to the basics.

I thought it was great! We got the deluxe lobster rolls and clam fritters and ate overlooking the lake and a giant full rainbow popped up over the lake. Couldn’t ask for a better first lobster roll experience! my boyfriend who is from the area says the lobster rolls we had were good but not great. He was expecting more meat in them. I thought there was plenty! The butter on them didn’t taste as fresh as I would have liked, though.

Great seafood. The whole belly clams were awesome. Fish was fresh and very well cooked. I wasn’t a fan of clam chowder and seafood chowder . It was to thick for me and seemed like it was processed.

Food is pretty good.when you get correct item .. 2nd time for pickup in 2 weeks came home with wrong item and given clam strips instead. Service is extremely slow like usual, waited a hour , was told it would be 20 minutes..slow paced and inaccurate. Business will be going elsewhere

Sorry to say, but I think bc I was there 35 mins before closing, I got a salad with white leaves bigger than my head, could prob use for an umbrella tomorrow! It wasn’t a Wedge salad, was supposed to be tossed, no dressing offered, shrimp I was told were grilled, and definitely were not. Pretty sure they were boiled, no flavor!!! Honestly, if they were still open, I would have returned it…the girl taking orders was super nice and personable, the guy calling out numbers for pickup, well he was over it…sorry, but true.
