Wonderful Hawaiian food at very reasonable prices. The BBQ shortribs were fantastic – well marinated and tender. The chicken katsu was nice and crispy and the bbq chicken was solid. The BBQ beef was so-so. My two complaints were that the rice was a bit dry and the vegetables were watery and oily. Overall, we would definitely come back again.

Decent meal at a decent prices. Was pleasantly surprised by the food. I had the shrimp which was nice and crisp. The rice was well cooked and overall it was a great stop.

Well, not sure why this place has high reviews. I was really excited to see a place with veggie options but it was bland, unoriginal and I don’t think a rice bowl is even Hawaiian without Mac and Cheese. It was way more Japanese than Hawaiian. The whole experience was disappointing with little customer service and it was all takeout despite us dining in. Pricing is also terrible. Charging so much for substitutes is ridiculous.

This Hawaiian BBQ location is very cute inside with a very surfer Hawaiian vibe. The young man who helped me out was very friendly and made the experience that much nicer. It’s very clean and pleasant inside and the menu is diverse as well as very affordable! I got these six pieces of vegetable pot stickers, but the name is different on the menu. Just can’t remember it right now. It was only $5 for six pieces. The outside was very crispy and yummy, but the inside was bland. I had hoped they would have been homemade, but I believe it they were frozen. Nonetheless, I would give this place a try because of the great customer service, excellent vibe, and all the other wonderful items on the menu.

The menu had a good variety of Hawai’ian style dishes. I ordered the Loco Moco and it came with 2x patties, and 2x eggs. The rice was a side, not the base. The base was salad/lettuce. There was a nice Mac salad side as well. The only thing was the patties were a little too dry and tough to cut/chew. But overall, it still tasted good. The staff were kind and friendly. I would try it again.

Really nice portions. Surprised with how much they give you. Ordered 2 two-item plates (bbq chicken and kalua pork, bbq chicken and garlic eggplant). Reasonable price for the amount you get. Quality of food is great and fresh as well. Chicken is moist as well as the pork.

Hoku is an interesting place. They have a lot of what you’d expect from Hawaiian bbq, but there’s a few things that are pretty unique, like the strawberry short ribs. Their fried rice is really stellar though so make sure to grab some of that.

Great authentic Hawaiian food. Reminded us of the Ono Hawaiian restaurant on Oahu. Huge, tasty portions and veggies were cooked fresh. They are customer friendly; allowed me to customize my own combo meal at no extra charge.

It was okay… I really like the to-go containers they use, very heavy duty. They have good portions, presented well but it was a little bland for my taste. The Macaroni salad was good but the batch we had was heavy on mayo, it comes with a few grilled veggies under the chicken which is great. But in my opinion the teriyaki sauce can make or break a place and well Hoku’s hasn’t mastered it yet… For whatever reason it reminded me of the smell of Nag Champa? Katsu chicken was good, chrunchy shrimp not so much… Give Hoku’s a try and find a dish you like.

This place gives off bad vibes from the moment you walk in. That dirty plastic barrier was super off putting. We ordered 2 combo plates. Crispy shrimp and salmon with fried rice.
