Just outside Jacksonville with easy access from I10, this gem was hidden in a small strip mall. You’re welcomed with a cool interior with muted lights. Good sized walkways separate the central tables, one wall of low backed booths and another of high backed booths. Recessed hidden lighting and a lovely fiber-optic chandelier compose the perfect atmosphere for relaxation.

Food was underwhelming. Ordered the Teriyaki Chicken Bento Box. The chicken was not flavorful and placed on top of sauteed onions that were not cooked thoroughly. Sushi was sub-par.

I see many top ratings for Hokkiado, but my visit was a tad bit underwhelming. I want to start off by saying the ambiance was very nice and appealing. However… While the patrons I happened to be with enjoyed their dinners with 4-5* quality, my meal came out beautiful, but cold. The chicken was tough like it was rushed to be cooked. I had a chicken hibachi plate with filet. The filet was perfect, however. For the price, the plate received was relatively small compared to standard hibachi grill/entertainment fare. The host graciously asked if I would like the plate REMADE. I accepted and not 2 minutes later, did another plate arrive. Now, I am not accusing the business of just sliding the food onto another plate and microwaving, but I have done so enough time to know when this is happening and in my strong opinion, it is.I still was not satisfied and still paid for the meal as I don’t run out on bad meals. I may give Hokkiado another shot in the future, but for now, I will stick with.Wasabi’s.

The Servers aren’t very friendly. Didn’t even want to give them a star for their rude service whoever gave me my food tried to tell me that yum yum sauce didn’t come with sushi.Since when?, I’ve always received some before the new hirers came in. I Had to pay 1.50 for two cups of sauce. I Won’t be back if that’s how they treat customers

I ordered the shrimp yakisoba. Literally one of the worst meals I’ve ever eaten in my life, no exaggeration. The noodles were a wet soggy clump; didn’t even look like yakisoba noodles. The worst part was however the shrimp- tasteless and disintegrating. I couldn’t finish it as I was scared the shrimp had gone bad as I’ve never eaten shrimp with that texture. Go anywhere rather than here it can’t get worse.

I ordered out. 3 sushi rolls. They claimed to go orders don’t get yum yum sauce. I’ve came here for years and always gotten sauce. (Yum yum is the same as shrimp sauce) they made me pay a dollar for for sauce altho I purchased 3 rolls. When I got home the rolls where no fresh and I couldn’t eat them. I refuse to ever come again.
