I didn’t plan to eat here, I pulled in here to put directions in my phone. Then I saw Hippo Burgers looking straight at me and I was hungry. I decided I could use a good burger, for health reasons I don’t often eat burgers and fries! This was a really good burger, fries were way to heavy on the salt! They had a variety of ways to have a burger and I just chose a regular cheeseburger and it was good! I love that they offer tater tats, next visit maybe? Staff was friendly and restaurant was clean. Cheeseburger and fries were $12.

Absolutely great burger joint. Was close by, wanted a burger and saw there were great reviews here so popped by the drive through. Food came out quickly, was thrilled to find my burger was not a frozen patty and tasted great! Tots were good, tea was good and love there was a drive through.

We have eaten at Hippo Burger for several years now, since they opened the location at Gessner and the beltway pretty regularly. Our experience tonight was less than satisfying. I got the kids meal, the burger is great! Its not too big so perfect if you aren’t a big eater….but if you want sweet potato fries they charge an additional $1.50 and give you like 10 fries. My husband ordered the chicken sandwich which cost $9.68 and was not worth it at all. It was tough, underseasoned and cheese is an additonal $1. Making a mediocre sandwich almost $11. The sweet potato fries and tater tots we ordered were not cooked properly (sweet potato fries were soggy and tater tots were burnt). My husband asked them to remake them. They did, but acted like he was being unreasonable for even asking. Overall pretty disappointing needless to say won’t be back for a while. Hopefully they will make adjustments where needed and do better.

This place was delicious. New go to burger spot when I am on this side of town. The portions are tremendous disservice was great The food was out hot and fresh and a quick timely manner. What else can you ask for? Definitely will be coming back and bringing the Mrs. Delgado Approved!!!
