The chicken here is fried to order and not breaded to death. If you dine in, it will be piping hot! Decent seasoning. Not sure what’s up with the bread in the bottom, and the coleslaw is solid, if not small. Solid fried chicken joint. The ‘hot’ sauce tastes like Texas Pete’s.

Truly enjoyed the food from hip hop fish & chicken and I’m so excited that they opened their beltsville location! Their chicken and fish is always fried to perfection and they have the perfect sides as well. Definitely try those spicy green beans and hush puppies. And you MUST get extra of the ‘crack’ seasoning on everything! This new location also sells pizza & they’re constantly having specials so check them out!

This was lunch on Easter Sunday. I got an extra side of fried okra. I haven’t had fried okra in at least 15 years. This was awesome! Being from the South, the breading could have been a little more thick and crispy, but overall was very good!

I went to this location because it was close to an event I was having 15 minutes away. Big mistake! When I placed the catering order I was specific about what I ordered and it was clear on the receipt. I sent my son with the receipt to pick up the order, when he got back I immediately noticed he didn’t have all the food! I called back and they told me I got the wrong order to send everything back and they would give him the right one. The event was 30 minutes away so I was beyond annoyed. Well I sent the order back with my son. The store calls me back 5 minutes later to say I did not get the wrong order but they owed me some more food. I had to hurry and call my son back to turn around because I at least wanted to set that food up before guests arrived. Meanwhile all this back and forth and it’s getting cold, smh. Needless to say it was a disaster. Now to the quality of the chicken.. . absolutely not! The wings and legs looked like they belonged to a Cornish hen and they were dry as the dessert! So disappointed in this location. I’ve had wings from another nameless location and they were waaay better.

So glad Hip Hop Fish & Chicken is in Beltsville with an added twist of Pizza. It is a huge location with an endless menu. I highly recommend their chicken wings, fried broccoli cheddar bites, and fried mac & cheese bites.

This place is literally right around the corner from my job went in for lunch and ordered chicken and it was cooked way past done they literally cooked the flavor right out of it and it was dry. I figured everybody has an off day so I gave them a chance exactly one week later only to get the same overcooked dried out chicken won’t be going back.
