Small town restaurant with good service and food! I’ve been here before and every time the service is genuine and the food is delicious.

had previously ordered 2 country skillets w over easy eggs. on both the eggs were hard and it came with sausage. I had got 1 replaced and when I went today for the 2nd manager came out hollering saying this was my 3rd time. it wasn’t but I told him to keep it and I will NOT be back! I will take my business elsewhere!

It’s your basic “greasy spoon”. A lot of regulars go there, they seem to get more attention than others. Very understaffed. The servers look very tired, upon talking to them they are very overworked. They have no problem Reprimanding the servers in front of guests. There is a lot of yelling and arguing coming from the kitchen.

Have been here twice now and both times service has been quick and efficient, food comes out pretty fast and always tastes very good!

Nice location. Nothing special about the food and service. Had to go to counter for refill. Little pricey for the type of restaurant. Quality, quantity and price justifies 3 stars.

We just paid the price of a steak dinner for breakfast, for two people. You know, $20 is reasonable for two people eating breakfast, but we got a tea, a soda, a 1/2 biscuit and gravy with a side of bacon, and then a breakfast horseshoe @ $13.50. We just assumed that the meat in it was included already in the price of the $13.50. It didn’t say on the menu that it was extra, and the waitress did not tell us it was extra. So we get our bill and it’s $40.00 for a simple breakfast, plus then we left a tip. It wasn’t like we ate at longhorn steakhouse. Two ribeye dinners at long horn, roughly $64.00. Have had two prime rib dinners at the Keys in Keysport, Illinois for $60.00…so, cmon now! The food was ok, it’s not gourmet or anything. We won’t be eating at the Hillsboro Garden Restaurant again.

Loved having so many server staff making sure every table had everything they needed in Mother’s Day!

Very good food and reasonable prices and a very wide variety. Recent visit not very busy, some of the lights were off and the place was filled with little fruit flies.
