Food and quality of sushi was fantastic. The selection of kinds of sushi is unique and you can find some fish or cuts of fish that you usually don’t find in other sushi restaurants. The only downside was the service and atmosphere. The service was kind of bad… we were only one of three tables but no one came by to take our order. When the server did come by we asked her a question in the middle of the order and she just left and walked behind the counter and started making sushi. My fiancee asked me if I just wanted to leave but I declined. I was told this place has excellent sushi and I was determined to try it. A gentleman then took our order so I don’t know what happened to the lady. Most of the food came out correctly but they did miss part of our order… The ordering felt a bit clunky and when more customers came in it felt like the employees were panicked and running around.

Looked for a Sushi place between myself and daughter. We decided to choose this one. It’s in a small strip mall and wasn’t quiet sure about it. No keep in mind this re ire is written about a year after going there. But I will tell you I would go again if I lived closer. The place didn’t have many people but they appeared to be regular customers and that’s always a good sign.

We ordered the hibachi. The rice, chicken, and shrimp were all over cooked. The shrimp was very cold. The side salad we ordered was full of browning lettuce. The food was lacking in flavor as well. Won’t be back.

I’ve lived in the area for 15 years and this is consistently the best sushi I have had around here. I’ve gone to both high end and AYCE style places. Hiko beats it all. Eric and Angie are wonderful people and they take good care of their customers.

This place is incredible. They play bangers day and night. the vibe was immaculate. sushi was good too. don’t eat it with your fork or your server (and your friends) will give you a dirty look (understandable)

The raw sushi tastes like it has been frozen to long or something… I normally get sushi at Tokyos but figured I’d try this place because it’s closer. The food was a bit over priced but edible..there’s nothing super cool or good to say, but also nothing terrible to say so it was “eh”.

It’s a pretty chill restaurant with fun names for their sushi rolls. They offer a wide variety of food including stuff you would find at a Chinese/hibachi restaurant. I went with a large party and they were gracious in accommodating us. The service was kindly and attentive. I had the tempura udon which hit the spot.

We ordered delivery through DoorDash, food was prepared quickly and arrived in a reasonable amount of time. The Honda roll was tasty and the cream cheese paired well with the tempura shrimp. The orange chicken was lacking in the chicken department. The entree was probably 60-70% breading but did have good flavor. The sweet and sour chicken was really disappointing. It had the moisture content of a fortune cookie and it would crack in a similar fashion as well. It also contained about as much chicken as a fortune cookie does. Incredibly dry, and 90% batter.

I ordered takeout, but I came to pick it up. The front of the restaurant was full of prepped takeout boxes and supplies…it was so overwhelming. It made the entrance seem messy and uninviting.

If your only criteria for sushi was to find the friendliest atmosphere, then Hiko would be the place to go. Eric and Angie, the owners, are kind, warm and effusive with gratitude for their clientele. Service aside, there is wonderful food here. The sushi is fantastic and I’ve never had a bad roll. The Audi is a popular choice for good reason, but for fun, ask for the Pop Rocks Roll that’s not on the menu. Wonderful green tea that never runs dry, fantastic starter salads, and a spotless dining room. (Note: the restaurant is doing well more than half their business through carryout orders because of the pandemic. The small space means they’ve taken over a large table and the bar area with staging items for to go orders. Don’t judge them for this, understand it’s a family owned restaurant in survival mode.) The hibachi is wonderful as well and there are plenty of delicious entrees that will please the seafood averse diner. Hot and sour soup is tops. Eric and Angie are such wonderful members of the restaurant community in Eagan, we’re lucky to have them.
