We visited this place the day after they opened, so there were some issues to be expected. The wait was not too long to be seated, nor was the wait for the food. However, the delivery timing for the food was a bit off. The food that we received was great! We will definitely be back to try some of their other offerings!

The sushi was awesome we got the Deluxe Sushi platter and the Bulldog roll that was amazing I will absolutely be ordering the Bulldog again. I can’t wait to go back and try the Monkey Brain and one of the deep fried rolls. The service was great she explained all the rolls and her recommendations were spot on. Next time I want to sit at the bar. The restaurant was very nice and clean. I wish them all the luck in the world.

First time here. Was seated upon arrival. Server was quick to get us drinks. Took a bit to get a handle on the menu. It was a lot to take in. Finally settled in on get a Habachi style meal. Got the pick two proteins. Went with the steak and shrimp. Wife went with just shrimp. Both dishes came with fried rice and grilled veggies. My steak was good and tender, Shrimp was grilled really good. Veggies were tasty. Fried rice was good, but needed more seasoning. Maybe if they put some of the sauce that they grilled the veggies with might do the trick. We got there around 5:00. Shorty after the place was filling up and orders to-go were also going out pretty strong. Will definitely be back to try something else new.

Hiko is to sushi, what Taco Bell is to authentic Mexican food. It’s an approximation, and that doesn’t mean it’s bad. It’s close in a lot of ways but misses the mark in some places as well. The biggest of which is the rice. Rice is what will make or break sushi, even if everything else is perfect. And unfortunately the rice just wasn’t it. Especially in the Nigiri sushi, which was served pre-dipped rice first in ponzu sauce. A fantastic way to ruin a nice piece of sushi. But in this case it was most likely done to mask the fact that the rice was undercooked and not seasoned with sweetened rice vinegar as you’d find in traditional sushi. That said, the rolls at Hiko, are sauced up enough that most people wouldn’t notice, so sticking with sushi rolls is the way to go in my opinion. The takoyaki is a nice appetizer as well.

My chicken miso ramen was amazing, the strawberry boba was delicious, and everyone there was happy to see us.

Atmosphere and service was good! No complaints there. However, the food was just not it at all, which is a bummer because I was really looking forward to having a sushi place nearby. The lower prices surprised me at first but quickly made sense. The spring rolls tasted and looked like they were from a freezer bag. Same with the fried rice from the hibachi. The steak was oddly squishy but okay. The veggies were good although a little undercooked. The boba was the most disappointing-it was dry, powdery, and tasted old, but the taro flavoring itself was very yummy. The sushi itself looked pre-rolled and was okay. Honestly, everyone was super nice and I do wish this restaurant the best. However, very slim chances I will return unless the food is vastly improved. I think it’s fine if you aren’t a big sushi fan and are okay with just the overall idea. But, if you have a sushi craving and want some GOOD sushi or something that will satisfy-I unfortunately don’t recommend. The food was just not worth it in the slightest.

We were impressed with the meal we had for dinner tonight. I had the Shrimp Hibachi and Super Crunch Roll. The shrimp had very good sauce and I really liked the fried rice. My super crunch roll was also very good and I loved the sauce that came on it. My husband got the Khaleesi Roll and Rainbow Roll which he said he enjoyed as well. We would definitely recommend Hiko for sushi and hibachi. We have not yet tried the ramen or any of the appetizers but plan to do so in the future!
