Lou Malnati got his start in the 1940’s working in Chicago’s first deep dish pizzeria. He took his pizza expertise to Lincolnwood, a northern suburb of Chicago, where he and his wife Jean opened the first Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria on March 17, 1971. Lou was known for his fun-loving character as well as making Chicago’s best pizza. Loyal patrons lined the streets on opening day for a taste of his delicious deep dish creations. Lou always thought it was funny that an Italian should open a pizzeria in a Jewish neighborhood on an Irish holiday.

Deep dish pizza at this location is soggy, tasteless and lacking in cheese. If you are going to spend $30 on a medium pizza, go the Lou Malnatis in Wilmette where quality is still very good. Quality among locations is very inconsistent. Someone in management needs to review the HP location.

We have ordered from them for years. Lately the deliveries are very delayed, cold, and did not even deliver what we ordered causing longer delays in getting replacement cold food. Very disappointed with how they have changed. Had to cancel the last order because it was delayed so late it was too late to eat and they confirmed the pizza was waiting for almost an hour past the original delivery time, so no longer hot or fresh. Time to find a new pizza source.

Lou’s pizza is always amazing everywhere, but this specific location really stood out. They were on time with my take out order, someone helped me carry the large order to my car, and most of all, the manager went all out to make things right when there was an issue. Great food and great staff.

I was so disappointed in my recent experience. I ordered 4 pizzas in person/ Pan pizzas. The funny part about this story is this location messed up about 2 years ago with the same experience and gave me 4 free pizza coupons which I finally was using. So back to the problem. I ordered 4 pan pizzas and we picked them up to find they were thin pizzas. I called and spoke with the manager who said ” Didn’t you get these free?” I said I came in and they wrote down my order and he finally said he would make them properly. So we had to go back and pick up the correct order. I realize they were busy, but I came in person to make sure it would be correct!!! The pizza did taste GREAT!

Waiting 1.5 hours and on hold for 9 minutes to find out where our food is. Don’t order for delivery if you hope to receive hot pizza within an hour. Expect cold pizza in 1.5-2 hours. They didn’t even offer a discount for out extreme long wait. Go to buffalo grove on the future. Or order from then, they are much quicker or order from Rosatis.

I’ve been ordering from Lous for 20 years. And it’s finally become a faceless company. Sad really. They showed up somehow the credit card I’ve been using on their app for 8 years didn’t go through. I have no cash like most and tried to pay with a check but no versus their website that’s not acceptable. Even Dominos takes checks. Lous is now another McDonalds. Go to Giordano or Gino’s or anyone else. This has become a Corporate machine. It’s not chicago anymore lou would be ashamed.
