This is a hidden gem. We stopped with a large group and every single person raved how excellent the BBQ was. I went with the Brisket. One pound is A LOT of meat. The bark was super crispy and flavorful. Amazing! Check out my pic! Corn pudding – yes please! Excellent! Fried okra and potato salad was to die for. Service with a smile. Overall just an excellent meal.

I love this place! I’m as local as they come, born and raised WNC, and I’ve been all over for BBQ. My husband and I both love the food. High Ridge, take my advice or leave it (we will still frequent for the wonderful food) but I would be in heaven if you guys would come up with a good mayo based bbq sauce. That’s the only recommendation I can come up with! The brisket and fried okra is our favorite. If you haven’t had the bbq, you’re missing out! I also highly respect how they put family first, and take care of their employees by closing for time off. This is how a good business is run. Thank you guys for being here and serving up some amazing BBQ!

I wish I had taken a picture of our barbecue sandwich, but I was so hungry I dove right in before thinking about a photo, but I can tell you, it was textbook and appearance, very delicious, with soft bun and great coleslaw. The baked beans were delicious also. The staff was fast and friendly.

This must be a place the locals don’t want to tell anyone else about because I hadn’t heard of it during my crazy Pinterest “where to eat” searches, but let me tell you. We saw this place on the side of the road and IT WAS THE BEST BBQ we’ve ever had. We ate our whole meal, then went back and bought more so we could have a second dinner late at night. It was literally to die for. Best place I ate during my entire vacation.

Just pulling up to the smell of meat smoking was a delight! I got the beef brisket sandwich and fries. The brisket was smoked perfectly! The sweet and smoky bbq sauce was amazing! Plenty of seating, there’s tables inside and some picnic tables outside. We heard about the fish fry on Friday’s and can’t wait to give it a try! If you’re looking for real pit smoked bbq, this is the place!

Great place to refuel after a nice FB9 paddle. Great food and sauces, I’m from the Southwest and Texas so I’m very picky about BBQ. I mix the spicy mustard sauce with the sweet and smoky sauce… so good. If you see the pork quesadilla on special, order it! I always take 1 Super huge brownie home which takes me about 3 days to finish. I eat here often and the food quality and portions are consistent.
