This place is a real hidden gem. The food was amazing, and the service was excellent. Horchata and pupusas are delicious! Everything we tried off the menu was very good. You know, when you get fresh made corn tortillas, you are in for a treat. This place is as close as you can get without driving to Mexico.

Wonderful experience trying their pupusas. We also ordered the Menudo, which may be an acquired taste for some, but was excellent. We also got their quesabirria tacos with an accompanying auju-like broth (consomme) that was hands down the best dish of the bunch. It’s a special, so if you see it, definitely order it! People are really missing out on this diamond in the rough business!

This review is 5 stars not only because of the delicious food that was seasoned perfectly. But also because of the friendly and welcoming staff at Hidalgo’s Kitchen. The carne asada was tender and juicy. Even the rice and beans were great on their own! The Birria tacos were stuffed with delicious beef and paired perfectly with the consumè topped with fresh cilantro and onion.

I really enjoy finding hole in the wall restaurants as the food is typically delicious and reasonably priced. We were looking for a lunch spot while running errands and I was lucky to come across a review on Hidalgo’s when searching for pupusas. Hidalgo’s definitely hits it out of the ballpark for delicious food, being reasonably priced, and providing great service.

Highly reccomend. If you want great pupusa’s or taco’s, definitely give them a try. The jalapeno and queso pupusa was fantastic. The curtido and salsa were perfect with it. My kiddo loved the jr breakfast burrito and they even gave him a chocolate bunny. Very kind and friendly.

My wife and I were tired, and I didn’t want to cook, or drive far, and I’d seen this place around the corner from me, so I looked it up online, and had good reviews. Hidalgo’s will become a regular for us. The family of the owners were having their own dinner there, that’s how you know it’s going to be “mama’s cooking” There was a pork dish that I didn’t recognize, and they let us sample a bit before ordering. I had the quesobirria tacos. I’ve been wanting to try these for a while as it seems it’s all the rage now, and I see why. The consume’ was so flavorful, and not a lot of fat. The taco’s themselves were amazing, and the combination had me drinking the bowl after. My wife had the pork platter with beans, rice and handmade tortillas. She said it was some of the best she’d had. The owners and family were so nice and welcoming. I will for certain be back.

Just ate here today! It was absolutely amazing! I haven’t been able to find plantains that have been cooked correctly in the springs till now. This is amazing authentic food. The owner makes it a goal to use fresh ingredients. Tortillas are hand made! When you sit down and take that first bite, you can feel the love they have when making your food. I will be coming here again. And soon. Just amazing food, relaxed environment and great prices! I honestly think they should charge more! Fantastic!

The food was nasty, and had several long pieces of hair in it. Disgusting. I wish I took a picture of it afterwards. I just wanted to walk out I was so disgusted. I wouldn’t come here. I noticed the workers didn’t even eat there. They were having Wendy’s.

Everything was homemade to order! I got the Sopes and my husband got the Asada Tacos. The champorrado was amazing! If you’re in the Springs and looking for authentic central American food that’s homemade come here! The owners are amazing as well.
