Headrush is a gem! They have great coffee & their potato burrito was super good too. Staff was super friendly as well. Literally sat here for over an hour playing a game of scrabble with the kids. An owner (I think) even bought us some muffins while we played. Such a nice place & one we will frequent.

Love this place!!! The people are amazing, so friendly and helpful. Unlike other places, they have a TON of sugar-free flavors. I got a latte with sugar-free Irish Cream and it was delicious!!! Also got a fresh croissant that was buttery and flakey like it is supposed to be. Yum!

The cream cheese danish tasted like it came from a vending machine. I was so disappointed. The large coffee of the day I ordered smelled and tasted of chlorine. I took it to the person at the register. She was kind and made an Americana as a replacement. It was average at best. My husband got a mocha with cinnamon and brown sugar, it was excellent. We have been here before and had amazing experiences not only with service, food, and fellow customers, but this time the visit seemed contradictory to our past experiences.

I came in to grab something quickly before moving on to work from home but the vibe was so excellent so I decided to stay for the afternoon and work here! Not too loud, lovely plants and art all around, great coffee, sweet baristas. I had an almond croissant the size of my FACE and one of the holiday-flavored drinks (vanilla coriander latte) and they were great. I also bought a couple ounces of loose-leaf tea at gifts for some friends. Will definitely be back to work/create.

Stopped here with high expectations from the information advertised by the shop. They do offer pour overs but only if you purchase a pound of coffee which was fine with me as I wanted to purchase some beans as I am on a trip but what they don’t tell you is you have to wait for them to roast the beans which while I’m a proponent of fresh roasted coffee, the beans are not at their optimal flavor when they have just been roasted 10 minutes ago. They need a few days to off gas to create the optimum flavor. Also being on a trip I do not have time to wait 10 plus minutes for them to roast my coffee and then prepare it. The drip coffee that I did get was under roasted and the flavor was not pleasant. I Do not recommend.

I’ve been a loyal customer, I’ve gone through 7 loyalty cards. Went to the drive-thru at 10:10 am Sunday 5/21. Large Head Rush, small hot chocolate, and med caramel headrush with almond milk. It took 14 minutes to get to the window (2 cars ahead of me). When I got to the window the young man was obviously under the influence of something. My order was wrong. Long story short it took 3 tries and over 15 minutes to get my order. I got home, and it was still incorrect. I called and asked to speak to the manager because my drinks were wrong and the person on the phone said “So”. He wouldn’t get the manager and said I had been rude and he wasn’t going to deal with “disparaging comments” and I would have to call back and speak to someone else.

Normally their coffee is pretty good, but the last few times it hasn’t been. The first time I ordered an Iced Caramel rush and it is usually my favorite. They took especially long (15 minutes at the window for 1 drink) and then it was messy, they didn’t give napkins or say sorry for the wait and it tasted much weaker than usual. This morning I ordered a regular coffee and it was so watered down I can’t even drink it. Not sure what’s going on with this place, used to be one of the best in the area.

This is old location of Headrush, but always popular, because they making great coffee. People are nice and friendly and know what they are doing which I really appreciate. Also, don’t forget to ask about their loyalty program- every 10th coffee for free…

Ordered an iced latte tea for my daughter (even though she was hoping for Boba tea and we had read online they made boba teas). Instead of making my daughter’s tea first, the employee made an iced tea latte for herself first. Finally got her tea 15 minutes later. When trying to put the straw into the plastic cup with a lid, my daughter spilled some of the tea due to the cup being overfilled. At the end, my daughter said the tea was good, but the service was horrible!!

Amazing coffee. Really smooth. Family run – wonderful owners. You can also buy your own custom roasted coffee beans here. One of the top coffee houses in KC with their own roasting mechanisms. Ask for a list of coffee places in town for a “KC caffeine crawl”.
