Our open, vibrant cafe is located across from Center 45 Climbing Gym right off Bamboo Rd in East Boone.
We have a modern espresso bar with a flavorful seasonal menu. We also have amazing tea and non-coffee beverages. All of our coffee is roasted in house. In addition to our products we feature local food producers and artisans.

They have recently updated their tables/chairs and everything looks great! Coffee is very good but you’re doing yourself a disservice if you don’t try the avocado toast. Best I’ve ever had!

A hidden gem! Lots of space (even when they’re busy) to hang out or get some work done. They support lots of local artisans and the humane society. Great place and atmosphere. I will definitely be coming back!

hatchet is amazing! the atmosphere is wonderful, the selection of products from local artists and from their own company that they offer is amazing. the staff is so friendly, and the food and drinks are incredible. i have had the avocado toast several times and their vegetarian breakfast burrito. both were delicious and wait time was around 5 min, not bad at all. love this place!!!

This is a nice local place to get great coffee, delicious sandwiches and the yummy Stick Boy pastries and breads! We decided to give this place a try for breakfast during our weekend of moving our daughter into Appalachian State University. My wife and I shared the avocado toast and breakfast burrito. Both were delicious and fresh. We also tried their Warm Hug and Jade Smoothie. Both were excellent except I wish the coffee was hotter but I like it piping hot!

The best pumpkin latte & scone I’ve ever had! That maple whipped cream on top of the latte was freaking amazing. We also ordered some of it on the side to go with our scone We tried the hazelnut latte as well, which definitely did not disappoint. We went here twice today when we stopped in Boone. The vibe is nice, filled with college kids working and business meetings. All the workers were super friendly and chill. Can’t wait to stop in here again when I’m in town!

Service here has always been fair so I was taken aback by the recent review that says otherwise. I’ve been going to Hatchet since they’ve opened in 2015/2016. As a person of color, the people here have always been welcoming and kind since the very beginning. Discrimination of any kind goes against Hatchet’s values. I’m sad that needs to be stated but they have always been kind, attentive, and friendly toward me. I have sat through multiple lunch hour rushes as different types of people, many who are tourists, come and go and I’ve never seen any thing off about the service. The employees will go the extra mile whenever you need something. They’ve even given me croissants for free when they had extra. I have nothing but positive memories here.

Came here because everyone hyped up the avocado toast. For a place this pricey and trendy (they have oat milk, monk fruit sweetener, a fun item vending machine, and local boutique shopping) I was very surprised to not see any gluten free or keto options for the toast.
