Ordered here for the first time while visiting Tahoe. Had six different rolls and they were all great and I’m pretty picky about sushi quality. I used to go to the naked fish but had several bad experiences in a row. I will definitely be going to Harumi’s when visiting Tahoe from now on. Racism has become rampant and sadly, I dealt with it when ordering food from this establishment. I was born in America and I live in Lake Tahoe as a resident. Ironically, my encounter was from a white staff member, at a Japanese restaurant, in which it is run by non-Asian workers.

We went here for the Happy Hour shown on their website. As soon as we walked in, this place had a bad vibe, the employees never smiled and seemed miserable. We asked about the Happy Hour and were told they don’t have one. We showed them the Happy Hour posting on their website and were told that no one updates their website, then they immediately walked off without seating us. No one ever came back to seat us so we left.

We have eaten here many times and always great food! Yesterday was the first time back in a few months and it looks like it’s new ownership. We waited for 1.5 hrs for a large takeout order which was very disappointing, the staff seemed very overwhelmed. But as usual the sushi was excellent. Hopefully they get the staffing figured out quickly.

I’m visiting from Virginia here and happened to be craving sushi at the time. The staff was super friendly and the food we ordered tasted amazing, fav being the dragon roll. However we did order takeout and it took quite a bit to come out. This place is a must go to if you want sushi on your outings 🙂

This place used to have great service. After the new owner took over and all the good waitstaff left though, it’s awful. There seems to be the same two over worked servers, no bussers, no hostess. Theres usually a line out the door and no one seated. Lost revenue. It’s a hot mess.
