The fish fry is phenomenal. The fries are a top secret recipe. The all you can eat fish is well worth the price. The atmosphere is like a family vibe. The servers were friendly. I’m definitely going back. Only open Friday evening for dinner. All other days are breakfast. The Ham & Cheese omelet is also awesome.

The food was delicious and made to order. My son got 2 pancakes and was amazed that they were almost bigger than his plate. We will be sure to come back next time we are in Waterloo!

Arrived there around noon today after we checked in at the local Municipal Building to find out what they thought was the best place in Waterloo to have lunch. They recommended here downtown. It was 1/2 filled with customers. First impressions was a dated but clean old school diner, complete with stools at a bar and booths, much like stepping back in time 50 plus years. Owner Scott was a one man show this day, cook, waitress, etc. (but you would never know it). He greeted/seated us, took our orders, cooked our orders, and accepted payment, all while carrying on conversations with all customers. Our orders came out of the kitchen quickly. The soups of the day were exceptional, and while we all ordered various burgers, they were all excellent, thick and juicy on ho-made, buttered, toasted buns. The fries were hot and tasty as well. We will definitely be back.

I work in Waterloo and this is my “go to” for lunch nearly every day. I love Scott’s soups made from scratch with fresh local ingredients. Daily specials are always reasonable and quite a variety. Scott has quite an imagination and is a master of many things, but cooking is his specialty. He is a one man show most of the time, but still manages to get things out timely. It just feels like a 2nd home for me. I highly recommend!

An amazing nostalgic diner with small town charm and warm character. My Mom and I take day trips from West Allis to smaller towns in southeastern Wisconsin searching for a good lunch and conversation. This restaurant is one of our favorite finds. On our day, the owner was cook, server, bus person and historian. He made us feel welcome and part of his town’s family. The owner also has a small early TV / radio / telephone museum next to the diner. You can peer in through the store front window and see the earliest telephones, radios and TV’s. I digressed, back to the food. My Mom’s eyes popped when she saw her 2 pancakes. Huge pancakes that come to the edge of a ceramic dinner plate. She said that they were cooked perfectly with a golden brown on each side, airy and thick. She rated her huge golden brown pancakes; the nostalgic atmosphere of the diner and the warm conversation with the owner at 5+ stars. I agree with her 5 plus rating out of 5 stars.
