Hartford Baking Co. Menu – Glastonbury, CT

Type : Restaurant

Location : Glastonbury, CT

Back in 2010, we started with one baker, four baristas, and a mission – to give our hometown a great bakery, and make the greatest products we possibly could. We wanted to attach Hartford’s name to something superlative and create something the community would be proud of. A few years later, with a good dose of hard work and a little luck, we’ve grown to over 50 employees and deliver to restaurants and grocery stores in all corners of the state.

Our philosophy is simple: we use the finest flours, quality butter, and European chocolates we can get our hands on.
We are both proud and humbled that we are quickly becoming the top choice among bakeries in Hartford, CT and thank all of our customers who have made this success story possible.

After an early morning hospital visit nearby, found this closest cafe for my breakfast. Had a large coffee and a ham egg and cheese sandwich. All were very fresh. The bun for the sandwich was soft and tasty. The coffee was a bit sour to my taste. The cafe was very spacious inside. There were decent distance between tables. With large windows around, it was bright and cozy. The location was perfect, right after the highway. Will definitely come back if in the area.

I usually really enjoy coming here but today wasn’t a great experience. The people were very nice but the food was subpar. When I got my usual, the E-BAT with no tomato, I was pretty disappointed. They put 4 very small pieces of avocado on the sandwich that didn’t even cover half of it. The avocado also ended up being brown and hard at the corners and quite literally crunchy when I bit into it. Especially because I order with no tomato, I expect a little more than just two eggs, two small strips of chewy bacon, and the avocado I got. For $9, it wasn’t worth it today.

Great coffee and bakery shop in Glastonbury. They have a variety of options for coffee and bakeries. Also, they have ample space for parking. I liked their egg sandwich with cappuccino coffee. If you like hot coffee ask them for extra hot. Overall good experience.

The atmosphere was good, but they had the music so loud that I felt like I wanted to yell at my sister so she could hear me. The food was phenomenal, but $10.99 for turkey, bacon, and cheddar was a bit steep. I was at least hoping for lettuce on it or pickle(s) on the side. I’d go back, but this time know to ask for lettuce. My sister got a Cobb Salad and that was enough for 2 meals for her.

Disappointing experience with the cold brew as we waited a LONG time to get told the machine was broken. No adjustment to the bill as what they could replace was much less expensive.

I stopped in here while in the area to get an afternoon coffee and snack. The location was easy to find and there was a large parking lot as well. They are allowing inside dining and also have some seats outside. I was surprised to see they had breakfast and lunch food, all for inexpensive prices! They also had a large drink menu. The hot coffee was good, nice and strong. I’d recommend asking to put your own cream if you like dark coffee, they make it very light there. The brownie was also alright, but overall good! I’d recommend a stop in.

Overall, HBC has some great menu options. The baking is top notch and the ingredients are flavorful. The coffee is very solid as well. That said, everything is a bit pricey. Be prepared to drop $10+ on a breakfast sandwich with a coffee.

The staff was so friendly, cheerfully accommodating my menu upgrade request. The Tuscan chicken soup was spot-on! Seasoned perfectly, a hint of spice and herbs lingered in my mouth. The dining room was immaculate and tastefully appointed. The parm-crusted grilled cheese with tomato jelly was an unexpected delight. Their sourdough had a satisfying crumb&crust that soaked up my broth perfectly. That junk cookie bar thing… pushed me right over the edge.

Unfortunately they will not fill your reusable cup, only have disposable cups. She offered to fill my travel mug with a cup that would then be thrown away. Huh? Kinda defeats the purpose. Even if you order a meal and intend to eat it there, it comes in a takeout container, and they only have disposable utensils housed in plastic film. The coffee and food are very good, and they have gluten-free options, but sadly I won’t return due to their lack of concern for the environment.
