Nice country style restaurant, old time atmosphere. The service was great, the people pleasant and friendly. My husband ordered the t-bone which was awesome. I ordered the BLT with onion rings. The sandwich was great and the onion rings were the best I’ve had in a while. Definitely will go back!

Came here during the Mothman Geotour for lunch. Food was OK, nothing spectacular. It was very dated as they have kept the atmosphere from when they opened 65 years ago. The overall feel seemed “dirty” and the place was very cluttered. We went to pay and discovered they take cash only. Was directed to walk to Citizen Bank 2 blocks away to get money from the ATM. All their reciepts and register tracking is all still done by hand. I ordered a Steak Sandwhich, fries, and a drink was just a little over $7 so the prices were good. Doubtful I will return.

We visited Harris steakhouse during the Mothman Festival. It was a wonderful experience for us. In the hustle and bustle of today, it was like walking back to a better time and place. Even we were visiting from Georgia, we were made to feel welcome as soon as we walked through the door. Ms. Carolyn Harris, the owner took the time to sit down and talk with us during this busy festival weekend. She took the time to answer all my son’s and my questions. The food was delicious and service was great. If we are able to come to the festival next year, Harris Steak House will be one of our first stops!! Janice Lunsford

Not sure if we just came in on an off day or if this is the usual run of the place, but out of our whole weekend this was by far our only bad experience in the town of Point Pleasant. The hamburger was good, not something I would schedule a return visit specifically for. When you order a hamburger for $4.95 it is just that, a hamburger. Fries are extra. We were greeted coming through the door by the own with a smile. She explained the 5-6 booths on the side were smoking and the 5-6 tables in the middle were non-smoking. We chose a table against the wall and admired the simple menu. We placed our order for two cokes, two hamburgers, and a side of fries to split. That’s when our visit started to decline. The locals were chatty enough, not very forth coming with information about the Mothman, even to the point of giving us incorrect directions on how to get to some of the attractions as a prank I assume. Our food then arrived and was just short of being slammed down in front of us. We were not even offered ketchup for our fries, and were very honestly scared to ask for some! We finished out meal and went to check out, that is when we found out they only take cash so my husband ran up to the ATM and I stayed to chit chat. Was not much of a chat I will tell you that. Then the bill was totaled and about twice what we expected to pay; we were told that their prices have gone up they just haven’t had time to update the menus. I am not sure if this was just more tourist pranks but as I said we will not be returning.

Took our teen/20 year grandsons. Place was unique, cluttered, with interesting character, probably dating to the 60’s before Mothman sightings. My husband and I got the special, good choice. The grandsons Mothman burger, not bad either. If ur looking for a out of the box experience, this is for u.

The food here was excellent, and well worth the price! Love the period atmosphere, and the wealth of local lore available from Ms Harris. I am quite sorry to see that has closed, and that I have probably had my last Mothman burger.

Very cluttered and dated. The food was ok but the drinks were…..yuck. The cups smelled as if they were stored over a deep frier and never cleaned(musty filthy stink). Any drink in the cup then tasted BAD! The coffee tasted like it was reheated from a week ago.

It seems a little run down at first but once you appreciate it for what it is you feel like you went back in time. The food is great and the service was excellent. It’s an extremely good price and service is quick as well.

Small town atmosphere even having smoking areas. Cluttered looking but food good. Owner has a wealth of local information!

visited last friday.went there last back in 1966 when it was sams colorado.place is dated,a little cluttered but very nostalgic and appealing.this is not gourmet,no valet parking or dress code.just good comfort food.we were seated in the non smoking side while locals played cards and gulped coffee at the smoking tables.drinks served and orders taken quickly without much conversation.our waitress promptly left for the day and we were served by the owner.pleasant woman and very personable.i always judge a place by the simplest of dishes,a cheeseburger.mine arrived hot, juicy with generous toppings.extremely good, above any fast food offering and slightly better than the various foo-foo burgers costing two to three times more.cole slaw was homemade and good.not too heavy or wet but just right.i wanted another burger but opted out due to the hot, humid weather outside.owner spoke with us for a few minutes and gave some history of the place.left with a check that was around ten dollars for two, full stomach and a very satisfying experience.if your looking for 5 star cuisine, pass on by.if you want a small town diner experience, stop in.
