BEST BBQ in KC hands down. Everything is homemade & it is wonderful. From the pickles to pickled onions and all the meat. Perfection. All the sides give you a good amount of food. There is NOTHING on the menu that is bad.

My GF and I drove the 3-ish hours from Omaha for this place as I wanted to try different BBQ styles while I was in-country and let me tell you, I would go back just for the food. Delicious, simple (deceptively so, I suspect), and well priced this BBQ store is – or was when I was there – in the back of a brewery so you know there’s a good drop to drink as well.

The atmosphere was solid with a little back room that expands the restaurant more so than what it appears. Most things were a la carte, so I got 1/4 Lb of the burnt ends and 1/4 Lb of briskets.

Hidden gem of a place for sure. Everything we got was amazing. Brisket and burnt ends were both melt in your mouth tender. The sausage is also underrated as well. Ribs were good too but we’re slightly chewy when I had them. A little expensive but still worth it for the quality of the food. Would recommend if you’re craving dry rub Texas style BBQ.

I’m not sure how this little gem has escaped my notice until today, but I will certainly return soon. It’s an unassuming little place (like most good BBQ places are) with a friendly staff and great food.

Great experience! Fatty brisket was outstanding! We made quite the trip out of our way to go here and it was well worth it! It wasn’t a busy lunch hour and we got to have a great conversation with the owner! Great guy and great food! 5 STARS!

Texas style half rack of ribs slow cooked via an offset smoker and seasoned with salt and pepper like good bbq ought to be; not lathered in fructose. It’s about the meat, not that sugary sauce. This was delicious. I’ve been to pretty much all the bbq joints in KC and this is hands-down, #1 in the region.

Harp has excellent fatty brisket! I’ve eaten brisket all over the southwest and there’s an elite level that BBQ joints get to where its just plain hard to say one is better than the other. Harp’s brisket is on that level. Perfectly seasoned, cooked, and presented. The meat is full of beefy flavor and the fattiness just melts in your mouth. It’s just not possible to get more flavor in your mouth than this brisket. The burnt ends are also delicious with perfect, crispy bark on the top. Sausage is also top notch. Good sides as well. I want to come back on a week end to try their pork ribs.

Added this to our cross-country road-trip after reading about it on various blogs & news outlets. Glad we stopped in and enjoyed some really delicious barbecue with amazing burnt ends and sweet potatoes. Staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming and the owner was right there helping run the show! Definitely a great spot to stop if you’re lookin for good KC barbecue!
