Been going here since I can remember eating out. My family loves this place, I hope it stays for years to come. Not many places like this anymore.

We had the catfish fritters. Huge dinner portion, very tasty with light crispy breading. Delicious. Fries were good, coleslaw was excellent. But what made the visit was the service. Very sweet waitress, she was attentive and proud of her town, we were able to hear all about Hardin.

Doesn’t look like much on the outside, however the best hamburger and catfish fritters around. Their ice cream is delicious as well

Home cooked goodness in a jiffy. Requested a quick meal to go, was hungry but had to get home for animals. Within 5 minuets the lady was at the takeout window. I was so surprised at the meal that was put together, packaged securely with napkins and fork. Oh, and it was tasty too. Will be back, so many options to choose from.

Food & ice cream are good. Nothing on the menu is so unique you would make it a destination. HOWEVER, what makes it unique is the small old time diner feel. Always has friendly staff. Also it sits next to the Illinois River in scenic Calhoun County. All this makes it worth stopping. Bring cash- no cards.

Stopped by today for lunch a few minutes before noon. Not many cars in the parking lot and no line at the window. Placed my order and was told 20 minutes. 45-50 minutes later my food was ready. I ordered a chicken bacon ranch sandwich and curly fries. Chicken was dry bacon was burnt bun soggy and fries ICE cold. Fed my dog my $12 lunch.

This is NOT greasy diner food. Both of us had a well prepared dinner that was promptly served on real plates and silverware. The catfish fritters were like nothing I have ever had before. I wasn’t really hungry but I cleaned my plate. The onion rings were fine also, did not taste fishy. Mom’s burger had a pretzel bun. She was pleased with it. Saw bread pudding on another table, almost took a spoon over to share.
