Had a sliced brisket sandwich, it was really tender, melts in your mouth, and it was well seasoned. Side of jo Mac and cheese, was soft and creamy. For dessert I had some banana pudding which was also really good

The brisket and barbecue were delicious, green beans and baked beans were also so good. I didn’t really like the coleslaw I wanted mine creamy and sweet. I was also surprise that the place was cute and very clean. The portions are small which I understand since everything is high. Everybody was nice and you can really tell is a good home cook food. I did really enjoy it .

We were passing through town on a road trip and stopped at this hidden gem. Where do I begin? The owner and her staff were so friendly and welcoming. We ordered a three meat plate, a stuffed baked potato and a banana pudding. We live near Houston and we are Texans born and raised so we know about good bbq and let me tell you, this place is in my top 5.

I got the privilege to try out their beef ribs (aka Dino ribs) today and I would highly recommend it. Very moist and a great price. The only Dino ribs that I know of in the East Texas area. Brisket on a stick!!

Highly disappointed. $50+ for below mediocre bbq, brisket was too fatty and greasy, the sausage had a bad taste, the Mac and cheese was awful, the coleslaw was very bland, and the sauce tasted like watered down ketchup with a tiny amount of seasoning. Overall just not good bbq and way too pricey to not be good quality. Only getting 1 star bc my little enjoyed the ribs.

I’ve been driving to Palestine for over a year for work and just noticed this restaurant a few weeks ago. I was really excited to find a new place to grab lunch. First couple visits I ordered “country sausage” sandwich. Very good but was not agreeing with my stomach. Something was not right with the sausage. The third visit I switched it up, ordered a “country sausage” baked potato loaded just to give the sausage another try. Was not too happy. Came with a sprinkle of chives, not a lot of sausage, hardly any cheese, no butter. Was sick again. I really hate I didn’t have a good experience, I was really excited about this place. The people were super nice and friendly. Recommended for others, just not for me.

I ordered the smoked turkey sandwich and baked beans. The turkey had a great smokey flavor and the beans were flavored well! I loved the BBQ sauce. Service was fast and very friendly.

If you are in or around Palestine TX. I recommend Happy Trails BBQ. Had the Stefan’s BP&J sandwich and it was well worth the stop. Gets 2 thumbs up from me my wife and my mom.
