The kindest, KINDEST owners you will ever meet. Family run and their hospitality is out of this universe. Fish fry was great and the portions are huge but you wouldn’t know it because you develop a second stomach when you walk into this place – it’s fantastic. This is a nice old school Polish bar on the east side. A couple of years ago I decided to stop in after passing it by for years. I’m glad I stopped in and I regret it took me so long. The staff/owners were extremely friendly and I had some good conversation at the bar while waiting for my food.

Damn glad that I discovered the Swallow via a friend of mine and their excellent friday night fish fry! A treasure from “Old Buffalo” that remains intact on the East Side. Warm and inviting atmosphere, great authentic Polish fare, cheap drinks. What more can you ask for?

Cant recall if i had walleye or haddock fish fry…i do recall that the fish was fried perfectly…crunchy batter coating with a nice flavor and moist delectable flaky fish. No overbearing grease or wet oil at all. What i really liked were the sides…im not a fry guy…but the macaroni & coleslaw (im a finicky cole slaw eater…my grandmother spoiled me on her coleslaw) were excellent. I could have gotten 2 maybe 3 meals out of this portion. I am not a big eater tho. Cant wait to revisit.
