I have only ate here once, and my experience was mixed. Overall, it was more on the good side than the bad.

Received a gift card from son who lives out of state to dine there. Server was good and responded to our request. Nice ambiance…Very disappointed in food…we both ordered French onion soup ($6) each which was okay and Husband got the small salad ($6) added chicken ($5) came with very little dressing and requested more. I ordered the Shepherds pie, ended up being a small bowl of gravy soup, three small slices of carrots, two peas, little celery, sprinkle of cheese with a piping of mashed potatoes around the top of the bowl with NO MEAT ($15). I brought it to the waitresses attention and she apologized and immediately went back to the kitchen to inquire. My assumption was that Manager was in kitchen and the waitress returned with a cup size container with 4-6 very small cuts of beef tips. As a courtesy, I would have thought Management would have at least come to our table to discuss the matter or removed the shepherds pie entree from our bill of($38), no alcohol. To finish it up, on what our Son expected to be treating us to a nice dinner out, was not pleasurable for the quality he or ourselves expected. They also would not accept tipping from the balance of the gift card that he had clearly purchased.

Wonderful surprise in Richmond. Visiting the city on business. Saw listing online and thought we would give this place a try. Wonderful dinner. Some of the best shrimp & grits I’ve had. And a delectable banana pudding cheesecake. Professional courteous wait staff. Rustic elegance and delightful experience. Will go back again next time in the area.

Went for lunch last week and was very disappointed. Service was slow. We spent 70 minutes for lunch? I ordered a cheeseburger ($9) and my Mom had the soup and half sandwich special. ($6) The soup portion was small and tasted ok. The sandwich was average at best. He asked me how I wanted the burger cooked, so I ordered Medium. It came out and was completely well done and super dry. Inedible. Sent it back and it took 15 minutes for a another. This one was cooked better but still was worth the price. It was a 1/3 pound at best. Since when I got my second burger Mom was done, she ordered the bread pudding. It was decent but no where worth the $7 dollar charge. (A desert that cost more than the lunch special?)

We decided to go to the Olive Garden, but as usual there was a long wait. So my wife suggested we try Hangers since we have never try it before. Wow, what a pleasant surprise! Well decorated for Christmas friendly but professional service it was all good. Food was very good and portions are generous. Would have give them 5 stars but the creme brule(sp), was good but the sugar top was a bit on the burned side. But everything was very very good.

Fine dining at its best! Just happened to drop in, as we were traveling. I will always remember our evening there! “Best steak I ever had, “said my husband! Wish we lived closer. Thanku for a memorable experience!

Waitress was mediocre. Food was below expectations. Sent back an overcooked steak. They ran out at 7pm on a Saturday. Potatoes were hard and not fully cooked. Vegetables were cold. Would not recommend.

The food was great. The Hanger Steak was delicious, the baked parmesan tomato was excellent, and the banana cheese cake was really good. Everything was really good except the service, the waiter (Robert) was cold and unperonable. I would definately go back, and just make sure I had a different server.

Wonderful atmosphere and great food, service was slow…I had an incident there that I felt was a personal infringement on my rights and politely asked the owner to address it through their feedback email system…

Come prepared for a decent tab, but the food is higher quality than the surrounding area. Hangers is a prime example of “you get what you pay for”. Shepherds pie was awesome. Sit back with a tall glass and enjoy the atmosphere.
