Hanamizuki is probably the most authentic Japanese restaurant in Orlando with dishes you can’t find anywhere else. The menu had pretty much every Japanese cuisine you can think of ranging from zaru soba and chawanmushi to sukiyaki. You can tell it’s legit when both the staff and customers are Japanese.

Although not all the seats in this tiny place were full, they only take reservations. It certainly excludes a taste of Japan with the waitresses wearing the traditional attire and the decor in a therapeutic green. The sushi was fantastic and fresh and the special mushroom soup tasted gold, albeit everything is very expensive. The little appetizers were truly tiny, but they they so detailed and authentic it was hard not to appreciate them. The egg yolk mixed wonderfully and the crunchy crab legs were a delight.

Traditional Japanese restaurant that has lots of variety. I like that they stick to the classics and don’t venture into fusion. The cooked dishes are done particularly well, but some of the sushi didn’t taste fresh. My favorites were the nabeyaki udon, chawanmushi, tamago nigiri, eel nigiri, and tuna nigiri. Prices were reasonable. Service was friendly. The only odd thing is that they prefer calling ahead to make reservations even if the restaurant isn’t full.

I cannot express the delight my brother and my partner and I experienced at this place. It felt so professional and welcoming. Getting a reservation was super easy and RECOMMENDED. It is a small place, but fresh and delicious beyond anything else I’ve had in the area. We WILL be coming back!! Loved the onigiri, the green tea, the SAKE, SUSHI, EVERYTHING we had was amazing. Server was attentive and had great suggestions. Thank you Hanamizuki

This Japanese restaurant blew my mind. Even though it was located in the ICON park tourist area on I drive, it is very authentic. The quality of the sushi was so delicious. They had ootoro, fresh uni, and lots of mentaiko options which I was very happy about. They also had onigiris, which is very hard to find in orlando. They have nabe and sukiyakis. I don’t even know how they made steak taste so good. We ordered hot green tea and they would just keep coming over to refill it. How awesome is that? The staff were all super friendly. They even had little children’s bowl and utensils just for them. I would come back here over and over again.
