It’s rather unfortunate to be the one person that shares a bad review out of hundreds of good reviews. We came here based on all the great reviews! Maybe our taste buds are a little uppity, but there was absolutely nothing special about our sushi roles. Each role tasted the same, and they all tasted kind of bland. No spice, no flavor…nothing. The service was great and we had a very friendly waitress, so that was a plus. They need to be very careful what they play on the TV…lots of nudity and there were little kids in the restaurant. Hibachi might be worth a try next. Sushi is nothing to write home about.

The wait staff were friendly but stretched. As someone else has mentioned, the choice of TV channel was highly inappropriate. Who wants to watch an old episode of “fear factor” with contestants eating live bugs when you are trying to eat dinner? The food was average and lacking in flavor. I had to use a lot of their ginger and spicy sauces to taste anything.

Hana Sushi is a hidden gem here in Gloucester. It’s in a shopping center and not very fancy on the outside. But the food is great and it’s always a fun experience. You will bring something home with you. We always get the dinner for two. Shrimp, steak, chicken, veggies and rice after miso soup and salad. They also have sushi that I’ve heard is great. Definitely worth a visit if you haven’t tried it.
