I went in for the happy hour which ends at 6:30pm. I ordered the seaweed salad, which was very tasty, and the shrimp shumai, which either wasn’t fresh or just didn’t taste great. This was recommended to me by the waitress over the little neck clam soup. For $5 a dish in midtown, however, I have no complaints about portion sizes. Service was fine, though happy hour diners were seated in a separate section near the bar. I’m glad I tried it but I have no plans to return.

A decent Japanese place in midtown though would be difficult for the folks with vegan and/ or vegetarian preferences.

Stumbled upon this restaurant during a break from watching the St. Patrick’s Day parade and weren’t expecting much but WOW! Loved the calm ambiance in contrast to the busy street outside and the service was great. The weekday lunch specials are amazing, we couldn’t believe it was so affordable. Fish was fresh, portions were large, and everything was delicious. Loved that the teriyaki chicken wasn’t super sweet (like it often is) and the green tea was delicious! They use real leaves and you can get refills of water. Will definitely go back!

Great service and drinks. Somewhat limited vegetarian options, but staff were willing to adjust and make substitutions to help accommodate that. Sushi was good, solid, traditional sushi items. Would recommend.

Great value for Omakase sushi and sashimi lunch set. Very fresh fish and great service. The bento box teriyaki chicken was too tough.

Went here per the reviews and wasn’t too bad. I ordered the rainbow roll, eel and cucumber roll, and the salmon and avocado roll. Miso soup was pretty good too. This place is a good bang for your buck considering the location but isn’t the highest end sushi.

I don’t normally visit midtown sushi restaurants.. simply because I normally find them over priced..but was going to a show at Radio City..and Hama came highly recommended. Cut to the chase…the sushi was fresh and absolutely delicious..service was superb…and honestly, it didn’t break the bank. Would absolutely come back here again..and would recommend to others

We arrived at Hama for lunch, after looking for a restaurant in the area. We were pleasantly surprised by the freshness of the fish! It took a while for our order to be served, but the staff was kind and apologetic. I would definitely recommend this place for a nice sushi place, not crazy expensive.
