The food was good. It’s been a while since I last came here. If going during the day, make sure you don’t miss the lunch special happy hour

My son picked this place for a celebration dinner. I was very concerned when walking in because it seemed rough and had an odor to me. Like it needs a really deep cleaning.

Been coming here for at least the past 30 years. It’s a bit of nostalgia for me. The atmosphere is always pleasant and the food is always great! I had the tempura teishoku for lunch and for dessert I had the deluxe green tea shaved ice with azuki beans, vanilla ice cream, and snow cap. Sampled a bit from everyone’s plate. The pork tonkatsu is thick and tender. I also noted how big the miso butterfish is!! It was probably the size of my hand. Definitely worth the visit if you’re in the area.

The takeout experience was excellent. Even when I arrived slightly early they were accommodating and offered me a drink as I waited. The poke bowl was surprisingly more flavorful than I anticipated. Highly recommend!

Nice restaurant for family meals. They really downsized their menu, they no longer have any noodle dishes. They should definitely bring them back. Good food; sushi and combination meals. They require masks at all times unless you’re actively eating or drinking. They take temperature checks upon seating and require you to wait outside until you’re called for your table. I love their green tea ice cream, a must to finish off my meal. They also no longer give origami for children. All staff members are wearing masks. Bathrooms are only one person at a time but people don’t read and still come in when someone’s inside…..

My sister gave a lunvheon birthday party for her husband, 17 of us attended. The room was pleasant, with lots of space so we could walk around and chat with everyone. The only draw back, was we were given one wait staff for everything. He did a great job, but lacked timing. For he also had another large group of about 15. When you spend almost $800 + tip, you’d expect more service than one person. I have only good things to say about our waiter, but criticize the management for their scheduling of staff when they knew they had reservations for that many people. Overall the waiter made up for the managers poor scheduling, and if that is their practice then the owners of the establishment should rethink their restaurants image.

We like to come here because we can eat Japanese food for a reasonable price. We used to come more frequently, but the service hasn’t been what it used to be. Fortunately, the food…especially the misoyaki salmon…tastes the same.

Definitely don’t visit this place enough. Over our last few visits (maybe 4-5 in the last 6-9 months), I hadn’t stopped to notice that the service we’ve been receiving has been tremendously great! The servers and whole of the support staff have been very very gracious, friendly, and efficient. Add on to this their awesome value for the dollar. Japanese cuisine, in general, isn’t known to be on the inexpensive, or budget end. Gyotaku offers excellent specials (I’m not yet a senior, but you can bet your bottom dollar that I’ll be increasing the frequency of my visits especially when that happens)…their senior and keiki specials are unbeatable.
