So had a regular oxtail costed about $29 and change plus tax obviously, I know oxtails are in high demand, but I really got a lot of bones as well. Unfortunately I really don’t want to pay such a high price for little to no food. Sauce was a bit watery but that’s okay. Flavor was pretty bland, meat did not taste too good not sure if it was because it was close to closing and got scraps..I guess it depends on who’s cooking? Service was alright overall.

This is another hidden gem in Covington. The Curry Chicken, rice and peas, plantains and cabbage is very good. They give good portions, the food is fresh and hot and the prices are reasonable. I can’t wait to try the Oxtails (I’m giving you a heads up. They are between $30-34.) You want Jamaican give Gwen’s a try. Thank me later!

So upset that I spent my last bit of money to go this restaurant of all restaurants, I had to choose this one! Food absolutely just not good! I got the curry chicken and it was barely done meaning you could see some pink with just no taste to it; cabbage of course wasn’t cooked AND no taste and lastly but not least, the planterns, really nasty and no taste. I know you don’t cook cook those but let them fry a little! None of my food was enjoyable and now I’m broke and still hungry! We gotta stop paying these businesses for trashy Food especially with these high prices! You all really disappointed me!! Cook and season your damn Food!

When I tell you I almost called them back to tell them how delicious this plate of food was. I got the sweet jerk chicken , white rice, plantain and cabbage. My husband got rice and peas, cabbage, plantain, and curry chicken. And a extra side of plantain. So incredible! The food gets better every single time and all the women that work there are so sweet. My husband said thank you for the malt! We will be back whenever we are in town

I’m from NY and this is just like a classic hometown Jamaican spot. Good food, priced not so bad.. service is good.. last time I went they took a little long with my food and the girl behind the counter gave me a drink in the house… nice, I’ll keep going back.

I thoroughly enjoy Jamaican food and I’ve eaten a lot of it from many different places. I must say, the jerk chicken is the best I’ve ever had. I’ve been here 4 times now and it’s consistently out of this world. I haven’t had anything else because i know what the jerk is all about. Can’t wait to have the curry goat and oxtail. The sides of the entrees are awesome too. 5 stars for Gwen.

This Jamaican restaurant is a hidden Gem in Covington, GA! Being Jamaican born and raised myself, I take special interest in finding and trying different Jamaican restaurants when I come across them near and far! As of February 2023, and as far as I know, this is 1 of 2 Jamaican restaurants in Covington. Though I haven’t tried the other restaurant as yet, Ms. Gwen has me loyal to her restaurant as her food is authentic and makes me feel so nostalgic! Here are a few reasons why I am loyal to this restaurant:

I had a taste for Caribbean food so I stopped by on my way home from work. I paid a hell of a lot for oxtails, rice and peas, cabbage and plantains. But maaaaaaaaaan when I say food is so good, good is an understatement. And the portions are way more than enough. This place deserves 10 stars. Love it and I’m a customer for life.
