It feels like you’re at home being inside and enjoying a home-cooked meal. Unless you’re hungry, two pieces of chicken meat are enough, especially with an order of fries!

Easily the best, consistent, chicken shop in town. There may be other places with great chicken in town but they don’t touch on the fervent consistency of Gus’s. If you eat there today and then again in two months with a different cook it’ll be the same taste. You can see into their kitchen and it’s always very well maintained as well as their other back of house areas. They’ve got a seat yourself model and counter seating for a few people. Also they have ample parking with a large lot right next to them and meter parking. For about $10 a meal and some of the most down to earth staff, I doubt they will be beat anytime soon.

Some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. I like to think I’m a connoisseur at this point so I know good fried chicken when I taste it. The spice, the crunch, the juice – I ate a full meal and asked for more for the road. We travelled about an hour and a half to get here and I’d happily do it again. I also recommend the mac and cheese, fried pickles, and chocolate chess pie.

The freshest tastiest chicken in Kentucky… There I said it. This chicken has a great kick the sides are delicious and the service was great. I know were the birthplace of KFC but Gus’s beats the colonels chicken right out the door. don’t sleep on this place! Sorry the picture of the chicken has a bite taken out of it but I couldn’t resist.

The BEST and RARE to find spicy catfish entree. While it doesn’t get better pairing it with deliciously fried chicken and awesome side options, the service that Kristen provides is none like any other server I’ve experienced. She’s always quick to welcome, super fast to take my order, and very friendly in her interactions. She knows the menu and the offerings easily and provides the best recommendations. This restaurant is perfect for lunch or dinner and the location is accessible easily downtown with ample parking. Thanks Gus’s!
