I ordered two vegetable plates and a sweet tea. I had broccoli casserole, sweet potato casserole, apple crumble, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, cabbage, pinto beans, potato salad, hush puppies. The apple crumble and sweet potato casserole were delicious. They had good flavor and a good amount of topping. The mashed potatoes were real potatoes, not the flakes. They had really nice flavor. The potato surprised me. Not many restaurants get potato salad right but they do. The customer service was great. The ladies were friendly and fast.

The food was great. Service not so good was not very busy. When we went they came by and poured my friend refilled his drink. Mine was sitting right there almost empty she left. She came back and asked if there was anything else I had to tell them. Yes I would like some more drink. Also they act like just because the man is there. They’re the only one that is supposed to get a refill on drinks. I don’t know. But anyway the food was wonderful. The food was good. This was the second time we have been the first time. The food was not so great. Made my husband sick but he wanted to try it again and we did and the food was great. I think we will try it again to see what other kind of foods they offer. The food so far that we have gotten has been really good. I had no problems with it the first time or the second time other than the service

The waitress was very flirty with my husband and totally ignored me. She said inappropriate things to him. I am usually a big tipper because I support the waitresses. But nothing for her.

I really liked it when it was CJ’s. I was real cautious at trying the new Gunter’s. We got there right at the start of lunch and the end of breakfast. I was pleased to see the 2 girls from CJ’s they treat you like family. I ate their fried chicken dipped In hot sauce. I enjoyed it. It came with two vegetables. I had the broccoli and cheese ,and the pintos and It was pretty good. My wife got the spaghetti and it had very little flavor needed some garlic and more sauce. I felt like the portion was a little small. Just Covered the meat side of a three section plate. Came with a salad that was mostly just iceberg lettuce. It would be nice if you have a little cucumber, and carrots ,and some, pickle and a little bit more onion on the salads. Our friend that was with us wasn’t too impressed with the Mesquite chicken. She got mashed potatoes which were good but the other side cucumber salad didn’t have any vinegar taste to it. It tasted like it was just marinated in water with tomatoes. They did offer her another vegetable which was green beans and they were good. I was told they have pit barbecue chicken On certain days of the week. I would like to come back and try that. Overall I would rate this place about a 3 right now needs a few little tweaks. I will however give it the 3C’s award. The first C= good customer service, 2nd C= Is for cleanliness ,and last but not least the 3rd C= cost effectiveness. I was hoping for a little more! I really love good old fashioned dinners and dives. I will visit again. But I’m in no hurry. May the Lord Bless and keep you and his face to shine upon you.
