Its our love of culture, diversity, and all those amazing foods that have touched our soul, that are the inspiration for our family business . All our food is Made to Order and cooked fresh on the spot, so we recommend reservations during evening hours as we are a small space. Our goal is that you have an amazing food experience and enjoy a good family dinner filled with laughter and conversation. We work with our local farms and butcher shops to create the freshest tasting latino home cooked meals. We are BYOB, so feel free to bring in drinks to enjoy our amazing meals.

Had a ladies lunch group of 8 here on a Saturday. The waitress was very nice and food came out pretty quickly considering we had such a large party. We didn’t experience any problems. Beautifully decorated inside. The dining room and bathroom were very clean as well. Oh yeah the food, it was delicious!!

I’ve been to Guante Family Restaurant so many times and I’ve loved it on every occasion. Friendly staff and the best mofongo I’ve ever had! What’s not to love! Also the pork and cheese pupusas are amazing! Truly a hidden gem in central Pennsylvania!

Best Cuban sandwich I’ve ever had. Kinda on the smallish side though. Also the sweet plantains were the best we’ve had. The plantain chip were just ok. My wife got some bowl meal and said it was good but small portion of protein and lots of rice.

We really love the food, and have had good experiences for both dine-in and take-out. We have never been disappointed with the food! The only thing that I am a bit disappointed with is there are times of not being able to reach the restaurant by phone, and there’s no voicemail greeting stating changes to their hours. We were under the impression that the restaurant was open until 9 pm this evening, but when we tried to call to place an order around 8pm, the calls went unanswered, and there’s a greeting saying, “Hello. We are not available now”. That’s it. No other information, no way to know if their hours had changed, if they were still open, etc. I had surgery earlier today & when I was finally able to eat, their food was all I wanted . We’ll still order again in the future, and still love Guante’s, but I hope things will get better with the phone system & that up-to-date notifications will be provided if/when their hours change.

The food is so good here! You have to go. The interior is renovated and it’s a perfect color scheme with strands of lights. A woman came to our table and made great recommendations for pupusas and entrees. I presume she was the cook. I had the signature sautéed chicken with house sauce and it was phenomenal. The pupusas are delicious and my husband loved the pulled pork. If you are in the area definitely stop by. The flavors are incredible. The only thing that wasn’t for me was the coffee.

The food here is incredible!! I love the plantains they bring out right away. I like the atmosphere inside but they are good at serving takeout as well.

One of my all-time favorite restaurants. Service is great and quick. All of the waitstaff is friendly. We do both takeout and dine-in often at this establishment and have never been disappointed.

Not your usual Mexican – because it’s influence are from Central America. Each of our three dishes were delicious (pechuga de pollo, tostada’s and the chifrijo bowl were perfectly seasoned and combined with their other ingredients). Unique and great food! Friendly service too.
