I got the Monte Cristo and it was very good. It wasn’t very busy at 10:30 on a Sunday but the food took a little while to get to the table. The “art” on the wall was very unusual. Looks like a trash bag glued to the canvas and painted white.

Fairly cute place, however it took 15 minutes to get our order (drinks and food) taken, another 15 to actually get our drinks, and by about 25 more minutes of waiting for our food we ended up leaving. Looked like there was one person cooking in the back, the waitress was kind of just walking around half the time, and who I could assume was the manager was just standing there spraying counters and cleaning them over and over again.

The food was great as expected. However the service was not. We arrived at about 1 p.m. on a Sunday. Grumpy’s closes at 2 p.m. The staff was clearly more interested in tearing down and getting ready to leave at 2 p.m. instead of serving until 2 p.m. and then closing down afterwards. They told my husband that he could not have an omelet because that half of the grill was already closed. Yet they served him scrambled eggs. It did not make any sense to us either. Another couple in the restaurant was there before us and still did not receive their meal before we did. They were not happy and left. I think the management needs to have a conversation with the staff. Also given that this particular day featured a fair going on on the street you would think that the restaurant would want to extend its hours and welcome in the fair goers.

Being empty at 1230p on a Sunday should be a clue for the owners. Ordered the Monte Cristo with potatoes. French toast was good. Very very little ham on it. Potatoes were almost wet, not crispy at all. Wait staff had the personality of a wet sock. Food is overpriced. Won’t be back. I know for a fact that their competition, Star diner, is packed at this time.

Oven has been broken for 2 months, I suggested a sign on the door to inform customers what can’t be ordered. They lost the liquor case key so we couldn’t order a mimosa. And then on top of ordering breakfast, they ran out of boiche bread 2 hours into their breakfast rush. Won’t be back. Was excited to try. Very disappointing

My wife and I went for breakfast on Sunday morning and had a great experience. The food was delicious and the portions were huge. I always judge a breakfast place on their potatoes and these were perfect, nice and crispy without any undercooked pieces. I also love that they have weekend hours because I can never get to the downtown grumpy’s during the week.

We were disappointed in our breakfast. The eggs were over cooked and the bacon and toast was under cooked. We had to ask for coffee refills. We love Sylvania, and this restaurant will be hard to support unless they improve!

Constantly raising prices but giving less food! (I’m convinced to salads are pre made now) Garbage salad was 15$ less than a year ago now it’s 17.50, I expect my salad to be overflowing! (like garbage) There’s literally 6 grilled chicken chunks on my salad. I won’t return because this isn’t the 1st, 2nd or 3rd time I’ve had an issue! It’s tiring. I’ll take my business to the downtown Toledo location.

Had lunch here today the service and atmosphere were fine, the food was good as far as taste goes but I ordered a BLT and feel like I paid $13.00 for a lettuce sandwich (only two small pieces of bacon on it) I’m sorry but I don’t think I will go back again
