Our family had a delightful early evening meal. We enjoyed the gorgeous interior and spacious outdoor dining area overlooking the river. The diversity of the menu and house-brewed beer flights, and dessert flights were a few of our favorite things. Gristmill Brewery has certainly elevated dining in Massena. I’m looking forward to visiting again.

Waitress handed us our drinks but upon tasting they were backwards, the fish was overcooked, the salad didn’t come out before the meal and the waitress never checked back. Have had better experiences for less money , including the quality of the food.

This is a hidden gem of restaurant in Messena. The food was great, service was great. We sad outdoors on the balcony, you could see thevrivervsnd hear the rapids. They even adapted my flat bread pizza for meet and added chicken. It was do good.

I’ll start by saying the food was fantastic, and the building and environment are beautiful. I’ll definitely try this place again, just not in a group or if I’m in a hurry. I asked more than a week ahead of time if they could accommodate a large dinner reservation of 15-20 people, and they said it would be fine since we gave plenty of notice. As the group slowly arrived and settled in, no one was taking drink orders at the table, and we couldn’t get service at the bar as it was a busy night. We eventually got orders taken, and then waited over an hour for the food to arrive. That would have been fine if anyone had brought out water for the tables, or come by to take another drink order, but our waitress appeared to be overloaded with other tables in addition to our group. We never saw her again until she brought out the checks, without checking if anyone would like dessert. They very nicely divided the check for us, which I know is a pain. I don’t blame our waitress for being busy, I blame the restaurant for not adequately preparing for a large group despite having plenty of advance warning.

Our family was awaiting the opening of this restaurant for more than a year, and our first visit did not disappoint. The menu was diverse and creative – a vegetarian can graze on a variety of items here – the Grilled Carrots Elote the best among them. I can’t wait to come back to try the duck wonton and burger (which one to choose?!). The flight of four brews crafted in-house are respectable. The interior is beautiful and the outdoor patio on the river will be a warm-weather treat. The blues music at a proper volume created a perfect ambience. What an asset to Massena!
