Food tasted great when we finally got it. We watched many tables of people come and go before we got our food! It must have been an off night for someone! We drove 40 minutes to get there, so it was disappointing, but we’ll be back to try again. Because like I said the food tasted good.

Sadly, Greg’s Restaurant in Metamora has really gone down hill in the past few years. It used to be a good local place with good food! I had lunch there on Saturday, and it was over-priced for just mediocre food. I ordered the French Dip au jus sandwich. It had very little meat on it, and the bun was spread with way too much margarine. The sandwich was served cold. The cheese on top was a cold lump and not melted at all. The small handful of fries that comes “free” with the meal were cold, as well. My companion had a plain burger and fries and a black coffee. I had a Shirley Temple, which cost $3.60! Our lunch bill was $40! They also add a surcharge onto your bill for using a credit card! The server leans over at the end of your meal to ask if you want to leave a 15, 20 or 25 percent tip? The server then records the tip on her hand-held order taking device. You feel bullied into leaving 20 percent, even though the meal was terrible! I also had a small side of Mac and Cheese that was made with what tasted like canned cheese. It had a funny flavor to it that I couldn’t quite figure out, and the bread crumbs on top didn’t help. It also took almost 25 minutes to get our food! Take my advice. Drive down the road to EG Nicks. They have a really delicious French Dip sandwich loaded with meat, tasty fries and a side of coleslaw for about the same price at Greg’s. They have much better burgers, fries and better breadsticks, too! Sorry Greg’s, you really need to up your game! I live close by, and I eat out often. I won’t be coming back.

Sorry to say this but we went online found a menu under the Greg’s web page and ordered, when we got there the price was about 45.00 higher then the menu. Spoke with the owner? And she said there was nothing she could do, it wasn’t her page even though it was under Gerg’s. I understand if it wasn’t there page but she couldn’t have offered some kind of a discount? The food was already made and I would have gladly met her half way! Really poor choice on management. I won’t go back.

Nice clean restaurant and restrooms. Large selection and portions. The fish was a little greasy and the Mac and cheese was just ok. I hate to say it was the worst service I have received in along time. I was surprised as the servers seemed pretty experienced.

I hoped and expected better. Tomato Bisque was almost flavorless, I’d say the same for the Bayou Burger; I was excited, but it was bland. Waitress was great. Check this out: it’s $11 for 4 chicken tenders, $14 for 3 chicken tenders with slaw and salad. Gtfo with that.

We ordered dinner off the specials board. When the bill came, instead of being $12 like it was posted, the meals were $27. Major difference. Waitress couldn’t do anything. Spoke to manager. She said it was their mistake, but couldn’t do anything. Spoke to owner. He said he couldn’t do anything. They expect their customers to pay for their mistake. Own up to, and pay for your mistake, don’t force your customers to pay for your errors. Could have been easily resolved. Instead they just don’t care. Losing a couple customers over their own mistake is not a big deal to them.

Called to inquire about possibly scheduling a wake and the condescending attitude and giggles while on the phone were completely uncalled for. Sorry we didn’t know a date because she hasn’t DIED yet. we were just inquiring about how many they were able to accommodate. I will never in my life visit this restaurant ever again!
