Tater lumps
First time eating at Grateful Ed’s. I ordered the Shakedown. My food was very good. But for the price it’s a little high for such small portions. My friend ordered “The other one” and was not at all happy for what she ordered. The burger she had looked very dry and our server was a tad slow. I know he said he was new. But he never gave her a refill. And we had to basically flag him and other servers down so we could get the stuff we needed. Small improvements and this place is good to go.

Grateful Ed’s is a fantastic place to come and spend some time. The food is very good as the owner has won awards for his BarBQ in the past. The portions are generous and the service is great. Lots of options for the entire family. Located in downtown Barbourville on the square with lots of nearby shops.

A decent place with a plentiful menu. I was not a fan of the BBQ, BUT there are other options available. I would eat here again, but the BBQ just seems to be missing something. Again, plenty of options.

I really do love the food here! The garlic Parmesan wings are seriously so good, and a great size too. We love the fries dipped in their house made barbecue. My partner’s tray has a Shakedown sandwich and he loves it. It’s a philly sandwich with steak, pulled pork, bacon, and garlic Texas toast smothered in queso. The service is a little slow, but the food and atmosphere make up for it with a bar, occasional live music, and lots of hanging TVs. Check it out next time in Barbourville!

The barbeque is cooked low and slow and delicious. Highly recommend the pulled pork. Brisket was lean and cut in cubes, not slices but tender. The atmosphere was a bit bare but functional. Too bad there is no band on weekends because it would be a fun place to dance and spend time with friends. The restaurant brings a hip vibe to a charming city square. Well worth the visit.

Absolutely, positively the best BBQ Restaurant in Southeastern Kentucky! Hold up, make that the entire Commonwealth and quite possibly an ever larger area! The food is consistently mouthwatering! I have visited there many times and the food never disappoints! Ed is a master at tempting palates and moreover he’s always eager to just drop in during your meal and make sure your experience is world class! His staff are overachievers and meet every need! Grateful Ed’s….. The diamond shining to brighten the Commonwealth of Kentucky!

Was in town yesterday for Daniel Boone Festival and stopped by to get sandwiches to take home. They were soooo good and tender, and stacked. We live in Russell Springs, and would make a trip back there just for bbq. It was delicious

The Bargo’s
Not bad but not the best. The brisket was great. The seasoning on the ribs was good but the ribs themselves were really tough. The pork was okay. Side wise, I got the Cole slaw and mac-n-cheese. The mac-n-cheese was really good. The Cole slaw wasn’t bad. As far as service goes, our server was really friendly and polite. My only complaint is that once we got our food, she never came back to ask for refills or to ask if we needed a box. We had to ask for a box and just never got a refill. I’d understand if they were busy but there were only a handful of table in the whole restaurant.
