My grandfather, a trained butcher and cook, stands in the kitchen frying schnitzel. The smell of the roast meat also attracts the American soldiers. Everyone is very hungry and licks their lips. My grandfather calls the soldiers over and gives them his supply of schnitzel along with freshly baked bread. The Americans say thank you very much and move on. A few days later an American officer rings my grandfather’s doorbell and asks him to come to the American headquarters.
The commanding general immediately shows him a beautifully furnished kitchen and asks my grandfather to cook schnitzel and other German dishes for the entire regiment. My grandfather agreed and from then on he was the German “head chef” in the American army.

We had dinner here today. We come from the German speaking Europe and felt like home. The food was authentic German. The schnitzel was like home. We can recommend it. The people are very friendly and authentic german.very good german cuisine. We will surely come again when we are in florida. They speak english and german. This place is simply amazing! The $30 price on the pork hock was justified as the meat was flavorful and fork tender. My father, who is a schnitzel connoisseur, found the schnitzel perfectly cooked. All of the desserts offered here are flown in from Germany. The owner also came out of the kitchen to chat with us for a while. He described how he prepared the pork hock. We had two waiters throughout the evening. We found the service to be attentive, well-paced, and unobtrusive. I’m glad that I brought my parents here.

My son and I have been waiting for Grandpa’s Schnitzel to open for a few months. We went on night 3, a Friday around 5:30pm. We were able to sit wherever we wanted and our waiter Brandon greeted us. He presented us with some options and made sure to tell us that our food would take 30-40 minutes to be served as it was all done fresh. I had a German beer and we both had water. They served excellent home made bread and my beer was yummy. We ordered bottle water as they had issues with the tap water but at $1 it was a non-issue.
