Fantastic food served in a charming and relaxing atmosphere. Located off of old Highway 431. Location is convenient if going either direction on new 431. I took the detour and I’m glad I did. Restaurant has dinning areas in multiple rooms of the house with interesting memorably on the walls and an AWESOME American Indian (or what ever PC word is being used today) arrow head collection! The food was delicious and the homemade potato chips blew my mind! YUMMY! They also have a covered outdoors eatting area which provide views of farms and respective farm animals. Don’t fret there is no smell. Truly like others have stated a “gem in the rough!” I hope that with the aggressive development in the surrounding area they will continue performing at the current level. Burger and chips were so good that I forgot to take a picture before woofing them down! Sorry.

Wow! Our first time here. Everyone was so friendly. We had a wait of about 15 minutes when we arrived at 1130 on Sunday. The chicken and dressing was perfect as were the vegetables. Emma was our waitress. She greeted us with a smile and took excellent care of us. We will be back!

Nostalgic and quaint – the southern food true and authentic. Delicious and service excellent! And owners down home local folk. Friendly and cozy! I can’t wait to go again!

After experimenting a great deal more with other meat and threes, I have to say that Grandmother’s House is quite good. Much of the pleasure of this restaurant comes from the atmosphere and the service. It’s definitely cool that the owner of the place, and the usual chef, was born in the front room. It’s fun to go out and see the chickens and the vegetables if it’s growing season. The service consists of the owner, Wenona’s, family members, along with a couple of regulars turned part-time help. It’s clear they all love the place and the food. Real southern hospitality — if such a thing truly exists — lives here!

Definitely worth checking out if you’ve never been. The menu changes and they may run out of your favorite side item, but the food is good. It’s literally an old house where “Grandmother” used to live. Pretty neat. We tried the meatloaf, chicken tenders, chicken fried chicken, and chicken & dressing. Everyone enjoyed their meal.

Great place to eat! Stopped in today to try a new place for us and was not disappointed. Food was very good. Service was excellent. The old farmhouse has interesting decor in every room and the atmosphere was great! Like eating at Grandma’s house!

We had a large party post-church on a Sunday and got seated almost immediately. There’s a lot more seating than you’d think here! Decor and atmosphere reflect the name well… Very comfy and inviting. The menu stays small and rotates–6 entrees and 8 sides. Kids menu had 3 options also. Honestly, it was nice to not have 100 options! This is down home cookin…. Don’t come for a salad or health options! The veggie portions were good sizes. Some entrees, like the hamburger steak and pork loin were good size, but the chicken and dressing was just 1-2oz of shredded chicken on top of dressing. It was delicious, but I expected a chi ken breast or much larger portion of chicken for $13. The adult chicken tender meal only came with 2 tenders (granted it was so well fried and fell apart!), and my son’s chicken nuggets meal (also hand fried!) had almost the same amount of chicken for half the cost. The adult entrees were a tad more expensive than I expected for a restaurant like this, but everything tasted fabulous and the service was great! My kids are veggies and tried new things, so it was a win!!

Came in for Sunday lunch. Everyone was very friendly. Had the chicken tenders and tried several pies for dessert. Everything was very good, and the peach sweet tea was excellent.
