Gracias Madre in Newport Beach is a vegan restaurant, but don’t let that stop you from choosing this dining experience. Honestly, I am not a fan of anything vegan, but I fell in love with Gracias Madre’s serene atmosphere, descriptive menu, artful plating, and most of all, delectable flavor layers in every bite! For starters, we tried the guacamole and chips and Mexican Street Corn, and we could not stop eating both of them. For the main course, we ordered a Madre Burger and a Taco Salad; both were amazing! We finished off our meal with the guava cake, which was to-die-for! You will have an all-around dreamy dining experience!

Service was exceptional. Not particularly vegan eater but for their offering it was very tasty. Tequila selection was superb and cocktails very well made.

Overpriced. My son loved the French Toast ($18), I ordered a single taco, and for plant-based, it was not good… the texture and smothered sauce on a tiny tortilla was just silly. I had a “skinny margarita” $18 that was a typical syrupy mess. Won’t go back after feeling gouged and paying $80 for French toast, a bad taco, a typical margarita, and glass of cheap persecco. Nice atmosphere. Loved the prayer table upon entry I will pray for forgiveness for this honesty.

Gracias Madre! The food was superb. If you didn’t know it was a vegan restaurant, you will be so pleasantly surprised with the flavor profiles of the food and the protein substitutes they used! For our appetizers we had the hearts of palm ceviche and the queso FUNdido (delicious)! We both got drinks: the nolada and the vamos (let’s go!) My wife and I got the taco flights of coconut, mushroom, and parmesan pastor. To rank out the three for our palates, it would be mushroom, coconut, and finally the Parmesan pastor. Out of the three, the mushroom was the best for us because of the consistency and the flavor profile that came along with it. The tacos closely mimics what you would normally have. The Parmesan pastor was still really good because of the vegan cheese, but it was VERY RICH and strongly flavored (think of a punch in the mouth of umami; after a few drinks this would be perfect but not today). We topped it off with the Guava cheesecake as a finisher. We didn’t even have room for it, but after tasting it the room magically appeared in our tummies. Service? We were well looked after! I wish I remembered our server’s name, but she was fantastic. You know restaurants where they drop the water carafe and it’s kinda expected that you fill up the water? Our service beat us to the punch every time! It was the most memorable amount of attentiveness we’ve had in the last calendar year for restaurants. And if you’re looking to take someone out for a date, it is exquisitely curated. ¡Gracias Madre!

Ohhhhh my gosh! This place was FANTASTIC! The vibe, the service, the food, the drinks, the music- IN LOVE! My boss actually recommended this place to me- and omg I was so impressed! We ended up getting there for happy hour- and got the salsa trio, a few tacos, nachos, and the potato taquitos… holy WOW. It was incredible. We had a great server, and the place was just beautiful. I loved it, and if I lived close I’d be there as often as possible!!

It was my birthday, my boyfriend told the waitress, it was also noted on the reservation….no birthday anything. Our waitress was just eager to get us our check.

Overall, a really good experience at this restaurant. A vibrant atmosphere and hip hop music playing in the background. Vegan, vegetarian, or otherwise… this is a place to surely try out for modern Mexican dishes that are all completely plant based. I was pleased with the variety on the menu and most of the flavors that the culinary team was able to compile on our plates. A couple of negative notes were the bland rice and beans and the overly disproportionate amount of corn in the tamales compared to the filling. Still, I was happy with the food and would definitely recommend others to try this place out at least once.

Had a wonderful experience here… I not only liked the vegan options but also the fact that most of the menu is gluten free. It was such a treat to be able to eat almost anything and not have to worry about having a bad reaction! The tacos and guava cheesecake were bomb; our server was quick and attentive as well. I look forward to coming back here.

Was out shopping with a friend who said she loved this place (the West Hollywood location) it was Sunday around 4:00pm and barley anyone was in there. We were seated out on the back patio. Very cute and chill both inside an out with lights. I ordered the quesadillas and they were delicious tasted just like cheese! The crunch wrap was also very good.
