Little rinky dink place. There’s often a younger guy who works the front counter, who somehow is always ruder than I expect him to be. Idk how that guy is still working there. Tonight was probably the last night I’ll go there. Told that guy to have a nice evening and he responds “yeah right.”

My girlfriend and I love this place. I am from Montana, but she was raised here (in Bellevue, not in Mercer Island). When she first told me about this place and we went there to eat, I absolutely loved it. We have gone on now our third vacation here for three different years, and this was the #1 food I was looking forward to this time. Their food is so good: I’m not a huge fan of rice, but their rice is amazing, and their chicken teriyaki is flavorful, tender, fresh, and goes very well with the rice and the side salad they have with it. Fortunately for me, I have always been greeted by a sweet lady. My girlfriend said she once had to deal with the rude gentleman that many have mentioned in their reviews, and while she said he wasn’t rude, she did mentioned that he was short, and he didn’t make eye contact.

Worst customer service I e ever experienced. Came to order as we were craving teriyaki after a while of not having any. This was closest to where we were at. Walked in and the guys behind the counter (apparently the owner’s son from other reviews) kept on rolling his eyes and huffing and puffing every time we ordered (2 entrees) or asked a question (could we do spicy teriyaki) or we had to ask him to repeat himself because we couldn’t understand if he said yes or no. We had to walk out because the amount of disrespect he gave.

$2-3 overpriced per dish IMO, and the younger guy that works the front is rude, but the older woman is respectful. Portions and quality is good. Too bad they use takeout containers even when dining in, waste of trash and they could save $ to lower the price of food.

Food itself is okay. I really like the chicken fried rice. The problem to be honest is the dude in the front. He always has something with everyone. Go look at all of the reviews, and you will see what I am saying. I have lived here for 4 years, and he just acts like he’s better than literally everyone there. Also acted super rude to my son (14) when asking for utensils, sighed every time he had something to say. He is also super rude on the phone. You can always hear him sigh after LITERALLY EVERYTHING YOU SAY, he mocks you, and most of all, he will say things under his breath. Next problem. Never seen good so expensive. For a chicken fried rice, I had to pay 30 dollars. With 30 dollars, I could get a huge dish anywhere. It’s crazy.

Randomly decided to come here because I had a door dash gift card. Got my favorite teriyaki dishes: chicken katsu and beef short ribs and was very happy with them. Tasty. It’s a bit expensive but it’s Mercer island so might be reasonable. I’ve been to a lot of teriyaki and this is definitely above average. I look forward to becoming a regular just for chicken katsu and beef short ribs!
