I went to Gotta Q by the Sea yesterday while waiting for my chowder and cakes at Iggy’s. I paid $22.99 for a brisket sandwich which included cornbread. My sandwich was more like brisket pieces rather than slices. Not burnt ends rather but pieces. I can tell you it wasn’t worth the 22.99- maybe 8.99. I know that brisket (whole packer brisket) is very expensive but for such a small sandwich- it wasn’t worth it. The pieces had the smoke ring but the flavor wasn’t there. The brisket needs to be so much more juicy than it was. For $22.99 you should expect slices instead of chunks. The cornbread was good though but I think it could’ve been grilled that’s the key to great cornbread. The service at Gotta Q by the Sea is very fast and pleasant.

Ordered a bunch of food and we had to wait there almost 30 minutes for it. Not a fan of them not having a number to call for take out since it took so long. The cornbread was AWFUL; super dry and overpriced. The Cuban sandwich was pretty good and so was the Mac salad. The pulled pork sandwich, on the other hand, was so incredibly dry and there was no sauce on the side or on it to alleviate from the dryness. Not sure if they have sauce to go/ to offer for it, but they didn’t offer and it wasn’t on the menu, so I’m unsure. Had to slather on bbq sauce at home to make it edible. The star of the show was their dry rub smoked wings. I’d go back for just those. Kind of expensive, but it’s Narragansett, so is everything else!

McDonalds offers a better burger. Thinnest patty I’ve ever seen. Pulled pork sandwich has no flavor, but a slice of cheese? The BBQ sauce is watery/thin. I had higher expectations. I wonder what they’re good at, maybe ribs? $22 for a brisket sandwich is a joke.

I’ll try to start off on a positive note and say the brisket sandwich despite being cold was edible but the Mac n cheese was watered down, the beans were bland, the fries weren’t cooked all the way and the Cole slaw was bland too. If I could give a 0 I would. When I came an hour before closing they were sold out of half their menu. Despite all this the people working were nice I guess. Also worth noting I came to try the ribs and they didn’t even have any.

Cornbread was good, not spectacular. The pulled pork sandwich was outstanding! Good anount of pork for what you paid. The pork itself was on point. Some strands had the pink smoke ring that you’re looking for with proper pulled pork, and other strands had the crust you’re looking for. This is properly smoked pulled pork.

Had previously eaten at their Cumberland and food truck locations and seem to recall it was ok BUT tonight had the Gansett location and both of us thought is was probably the worst meal out ever! 1. Half of the sides were unavailable 2. Ribs were simply wrapped in tinfoil served without a plate 3. Cole slaw and potato salad had no taste 4. Ribs were extremely fatty; not much meat 5. Very expensive- $62 for two half racks, 2 coleslaws, 2 cornbeads, 2 softdrinks . 6. Cornbread was dry and tasteless. Other than that, “How was the play, Mrs Lincoln?!”

Originally tried their Cumberland location and was so excited when they announced one by the beach! Made sure to visit the new one while up in Narragansett this weekend, even for just opening the food was still great. Ordered the smoked wings, definitely recommend trying those!

Definitely get the ribs, wings, and coleslaw!! I usually hate coleslaw, but the coleslaw was peppery, not too sweet, and was crunchy!

Would prefer to go 2.5 but I’ll give the benefit of the doubt here. Cornbread was very dry and tasteless, the ribs we’re actually pretty good, something you’d expect to get a back yard bbq though, not something you’d feel good about spending $36 on. The bbq pit beans were good but again nothing to write home about but for $5 you can’t go wrong. My 4 year old wouldn’t eat the Mac and cheese which tells enough about that. All in all decent addition to an otherwise forgettable culinary Point Judith experience. Then again anything next to Iggys will taste like a 5 star meal ‍♂️.
