Customer service is kind of stiff and the food tasted pretty much plain. I was expecting more flavor out of the gorditas since it is a Mexican restaurant but I’ve tasted better. It was definitely not worth spending $20 for just me. Not coming here again for sure.

The food is really great i had puerco con chile verde and desebrada en rojo they are my best i didn’t like the chicharron that much. The restrooms are clean the place is clean smells really good on the diner. The place was empty i was the only one at the time the chairs were a little disorganized but the tables were clean.. i give it a 4 star because the staff never greeted me they were always on the back of the kitchen talking (comadriando-chismiando) food is so awesome wish they would work on costumer service

Food is good but way too over priced. My husband got two combos that came with 2 gorditas of your choice and one bean and cheese & a side with a small foam cup of fideo. For both combos it was $19. Gorditas are small I can finish in one bite. Again food is good but way over priced for such little food

Most of the food I’ve had is pretty good… BUT Doña Tota really needs to set higher standards when it comes to training their employees on customer service. They’re always moody and it’s rare that you ever get service with a smile. And that’s at every Doña Tota we’ve been to.

The food is good but the service is bad. I placed an order by phone and went in to pay. Half an hour later I got my order of 6 gorditas. Good but not 30 min. later good. That’s 1 every 5 minutes. Even though I phoned in my order people entered while I waited ordered and left before I did.

Quality now is different, servers are rude, flavor is different than before, not well served, even fideo soups large portion is around 5 tablespoons of fideo n filled w just liquid ! I used to come here everytime visiting Mcallen. I guess ill have to find a different restaurant

I visited last week, so disappointing they have absolutely no regards for food preparation and handling, the staff figures I’m wearing a glove that should be enough, not when you are handling door handles hair nets and food preparation at the same time. I have to admit they washed their hands after delivering change from the register, but instead of drying their hands with paper towels they whipped them on their really dirty apron, c’mon

Staff was friendly but the food was not it. The Gorditas were dry and soggy at the same time (I don’t even know how that was possible) the only thing I enjoyed was the papa a la Mexicana filling.
