The honey walnut shrimp was delicious. We had no complaints. None of the food was greasy which we loved. It was hot and ready to pick up when we arrived.

Just ordered from Golden Phoenix and it was hands down, the absolute worse Chinese food I’ve ever eaten in NYC!! They got my order wrong, from boneless spare ribs, they sent me ribs!! Which were tasteless! The fried rice tasted like it was scrapped from the bottom the wok!!! Never again!!!

This is the worst food ever. The fried chicken didn’t even taste like chicken and the rice was super dry. The soup had a disgusting strong taste of soy sauce and vinegar. The French fries were soft as if they were steamed.

Based solely on my experience, Golden Phoenix is probably the most miserable restaurant in New York. Should be a negative star, not even zero. The barbecue spare ribs tasted so dead!! A few bites and I was sure I needed to trash everything in my order from the restaurant. I simply dumbed everything in the bin.!! Don’t do it!!

It’s hot or miss with this restaurant. It’s consistently inconsistent. Sometimes the food is terrible and sometimes it’s not so terrible. Sounds yummy? Go for it! All you need is a few bucks and a bottle of Tums.

Finally I found an authentic Chinese restaurant, like the way food used to be cooked in the 60s-80s. I recommend this restaurant for carry out food. There’s not much space for dine-in, but if you are alone there are a few spots on the tables in the lobby.
