The food here is AMAZING! All of the 6 dishes we ordered were excellent. I was not happy when someone said, “let’s go to Golden Lotus, its all vegan.” I was not happy, but after my 1st mouthful, I was hooked, every dish was delightful in taste, presentation, and price. I’m telling you now, vegan or not, you will love the food here. They need more than 5 stars . Don’t miss out on this gem in Oakland.

We ordered the ca kho to (fish clay pot) and the eggplant and tofu curry. Both were great considering they were vegan but the ca kho to didn’t do a really good job imitating the real actual dish. Either way, it was still good; it just had too much excess sauce. The dishes were served piping hot, which I appreciate. Some things to consider: They charge for rice to eat with these dishes. One bowl of rice is $2. Literally it is unheard of to eat ca kho to, a strong, heavy, and super salty dish without rice and some veggies. White rice needs to be included. On the plus side, they offer brown rice. For that, I can understand an extra charge but otherwise, these dishes need some rice! The restaurant is run by Vietnamese people and we saw that the chef was also Vietnamese. My husband and I enjoyed the loud conversations in their kitchen because it felt very authentically Vietnamese. It is great to have a vegan-friendly restaurant that also tastes fairly good.

I was in Oakland for a show and this was perfectly close to the show and I was blown away by the tasty food they served. There were not many people at the restaurant and there were too many takeout orders that the kitchen was busy.

We happened upon this cozy restaurant in downtown Oakland because the vegan place we wanted was closed. I had the delicious vegetable soup perfect for a wet, cold Sunday night. We also loved the spring rolls. Their menu is expansive – something for every taste.

Great spot for vegan dishes that are both creative and delicious! The sweet and sour “chicken” was a highlight and the “fish” was a pleasant surprise. Only thing to note is some menus don’t display all pricing, but everything is within a reasonable 10-20 range. Would come again!

#5 Mushu-Mushu Wrap appetizer was a delicious surprise! #11 Lotus Salad plenty to share or a meal in itself, I thought that it could use a larger bowl so it wouldn’t spill over on the table. #52 Sautee Broccoli Soy “Beef” with plenty of everything!

growing up my grandma, mom, uncle, and i would walk all the way from Chinatown to here for lunch. it’s been over 10+ years since ive order from here. walking into the restaurant was definitely a nostalgic experience. I’m not sure if this spot is still the same owners from when i went as a child but for the most part (with the interior design, menu options, and location) it’s pretty similar.

Very reasonable plant based Vietnamese food. Service was pretty inattentive during lunch hour and flavors were generally mild/lacking. The eggplant clay pot dish was wonderful and garlicky but everything else was on the bland side.
