This used to be my favorite place, but it seems they’ve changed something cuz lo mien noodles stick together and get hard really fast and fried rice looks like white rice with soy sauce.

We chose Golden House from a lot of restaurants in the hotel literature. It only provides takeout. So off we went to the restaurant. It was a hot day in Dodge City and even hotter in the restaurant. The owner/cook greeted us. He told us he’s been cooking there for 35 years. We took the food back to our room. My wife was not as hungry as it was so we had the soup and egg rolls. Delicious!!!

I ordered honey chicken. I got chicken in a thick gooey sauce which was made of granulated sugar. I ordered steamed rice. I got fried rice. I ordered an egg roll. I got an egg roll and it was burned on only one end! My order was to go. When the burned egg roll was put into the styrofoam container, the burned end melted the styrofoam and the styrofoam became part of the egg roll. So if you like surprises when you order food in a restaurant, this is the place for you. If you prefer to get what you order, perhaps you should seek your food elsewhere.

Very rude when we wanted to try for the first time. Man hung up when I asked if they deliver and When I called back I asked for a substitution and he refused to sub. fried rice for lo mein. Hopefully people read this review before trying and spend their money elsewhere.

Came at 2:35 on a Monday (they’re open M-Sat. 10:30am-8pm) and the open sign was on but the doors were locked and no one answered the phone twice. Kinda bummed I couldn’t try their food but it seems to be a chore to get some!
