The Best fried chicken I ‘ve ever tasted ! I remembered we used to buy it in Compton in Central AVE. In the 70’s but they closed that place , and now we drive from Orange County to L.A. Just to get that very special tasty and crunchy chicken , it is a bit pricey but it is well worth it. So flavorful and crunchy , I bought the chicken With french fries (the give you a lot of them with a tasty seasoning salt) and that super cole slaw salad and sweet pickles that gives that special flavor to the fried chicken, and the corn bread and biscuits they include with your meal. I don’t mind driving that far when we crave for one of the BEST FRIED CHICKEN IN THE U.S.

This place is so good. The chicken strips are the best I think I’ve ever had. Top it off with fries and a biscuit and it’s that much better. I took a chance on the place (the curb appeal of the restaurant is not that inviting) and was pleasantly surprised! The food takes some time to prepare but the service here is excellent. This is now my go to place when I’m nearby on Western Avenue.

Good grub. Just how I remember Golden Bird. Glad this one is around. Awkward build for drive through, but haven’t had any trouble so far getting out of the lot onto Western even though you must angle towards oncoming traffic due to driveway and sidewalk/curb position.
