Great vibes here with decent food selections. Squid ink seafood pasta tastes really good. It’s home made pasta with fresh seafood. Fried calamari with squid ink breaded as well. It’s different from the original ones that normally serve in the restaurants. I also love the tomato salad and snow pea salad as well. Everything taste fresh here with good indoor and outdoor seating atmosphere. Well decorated here as well.

I’m in wild shock. A half-empty restaurant, but we were put on a high table with three children.

What an experience. We did the freestyle chef’s tasting and it was seven courses of deliciousness. If you’re coming on a weekend make reservations early. If you’re walking in it’s open seating and the full menu at the bar.

So about this place. First it’s located in a beautiful spot in Newport, it sits on the newly developed Hammets Wharf. There is no Valet, so plan on paying for parking somewhere. On approach, the have a very nice and large patio set up for outside seating which will be great in season. The interior is very nice, but small. But it also makes for a cozy little

Every time I come to Newport stopping at Giusto is a must for casual drinks and gourmet quick bites. I love the atmosphere, the staff is well trained and the food is delicious, I love the small tapas and because they are petit you can try a whole bunch of them. Highly recommended.

The reason for this review is simple. Poor management. They only had availability at the bar which would be fine. We split a bottle of wine and sipped it to the point of rationing it before our pasta arrived. At the 40 minute mark I had to get a status check from the bartender, since they weren’t updating us. The pasta came well over an hour after we ordered it. I think it would have been fine if we were ever updated, but instead we forced to sit and wonder. The bartenders were too busy chatting up other patrons without a care in the world. The excuse cannot be “sorry the kitchens backed up” an hour after i order. Its just bad business and poor management. Your tables weren’t even full so get your excuses in check. Ill be sure to tell anyone i know planning a visit to avoid this place. It sucks too, because the Croquettes (when we finally got them) were actually banging, and the ambiance was nice.

Excellent lunch service by Joe. Delicious dishes including Bibb lettuce wraps, Johnny cake, and ricotta frittelle. Pumpkin pansotti entree & tiramisu dessert. Would recommend “the old man and the tea” and espresso martini cocktails. I’ve followed chef Brian O’Donnell and his brother to Canary Square, SRV (MA) and now Giusto, 10/10.

Came in around 6 without a reservation on a Sunday night. They had zero seating available for dinner for the rest of the night so we waited by the bar and snagged a seat after a bit of waiting. Got the tasting menu for 2 ($55 each) and it was about 8 courses, I think? Some, pictured, were basically just little bites. But the pasta and fish were filling. It’s a good way to try the entire menu if you’re interested in doing that. Honestly I think I would have been fine just getting an app and the pasta I had been eying prior. Everything on the tasting menu was good, I just wasn’t wowed by any of it either. My favorites were the pasta and the cucumber caesar salad. Staff was friendly and service was very prompt.
