As an Italian American myself, it’s important to me that I indulge in the best Italian food I can find. This restaurant, located in the heart of Philadelphia, happened to catch my eye. As you walk in, you go down a flight of stairs greeted with the bar, walking into the most beautiful Italian style ambience. I had made a reservation for two and was seated as soon as we walked in. Our waiter greeted us with 3 different types of fresh cut bread and a delicious plate of olive oil! Their menu offers a variety of different pastas, Seafoods and meats. Food was served in a timely manner, and let me say my favorite thing about this place is that they’re portions aren’t ridiculously huge. You don’t leave this place feeling sickly full, you leave the place feeling like you had some banging dinner at Nona’s house. Service was outstanding, and had the pleasure of meeting the manager as she made her way through the dining room assuring everyone was having the best experience. I’ll for sure be back and will be sending people in this direction!

Absolutely fantastic vibes and food. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff and service. The hand pulled mozzarella with salsa verde was excellent and should always be ordered no matter what. Great bread basket with some super delicious and fun variety. The artichoke francaise was probably the best artichoke dish I’ve ever had. Pork chop sorrentino and the rigatoni alla vodka were delicious and great portions. Rounded out with a delicious chocolate cake, great wine and cocktails. 10/10 would recommend.

I was there for happy hour and ordered pizza, mussels, meatballs, and drinks from the happy hour menu. I also ordered the mozzarella from the regular menu. The food was okay. Meatballs could have more flavor and they could be more generous with the alcohol when pouring drinks. Drinks were like juice, in my opinion. I actually thought maybe they’re stronger post happy hour. Portions for happy hour are great for the prices. Items range from $4-$6. Ambiance is great. The restaurant has private large dining options, which are great for celebrations. I sat at the bar, and the staff was very attentive. I do wish my mozzarella was “stretched” in front of me, but I’m guessing it wasn’t because we were at the bar. I would return to try the dinner tasting menu. There were 2 of us. We spent $77 excluding tip. The $18 mozzarella contributed to that.

I go back and forth, but land on a solid 4-stars for our experience at Giuseppe & Sons. We were there in April 2023, and it appeared much of the upstairs and some downstairs was under construction. In the main room, we were greeted by many friendly staff. The large room is loud and dimly lit so be prepared. It was a very confusing mix of people – some young high school age kids, some older groups of women, many family dinners, a lot of dates. All probably because this is one of the reasonable Italian restaurants in the city which brings a wide crowd. When we were first sat, we weren’t acknowledged for quite some time, but that aside the overall experience was pleasant and hence the 4.

My girlfriend and I recently visited Guiseppe & Sons, drawn in by her pasta cravings. We began our meal with their happy hour starters: meatballs, garlic bread, and the delectable ricotta toast. The quality and flavor of each dish were impressive, especially given the great pricing. The Caesar salad was crisp, and the chef’s special pizza added a unique touch to our spread.

I have to give this place five stars. Tucked underground beneath Harp & Crown and Samuel’s deli, this is a cozy and refined restaurant with professional staff. The interior is classy and spacious. We ordered a bunch of items. The cocktails were refreshing. The appetizers were really good, and I especially loved the whipped ricotta cheese which I spread it on bread. Next time I’ll definitely order the hand-pulled mozzarella (they literally hand-pull it in front of you). The orecchiete with sausage is a great dish as was the rigatoni alla vodka. Pasta is made in-house. We also ordered the scarpariello which the waiter told us is a staff favorite. That dish was amazing, probably the best chicken (pollo) dish on the menu. We finished off with cannoli. This place honestly exceeded my overall expecations. I can’t recommend this spot highly enough, five stars!

What an amazing place. The vibes are immaculate- low lighting, cool decor, comfy chairs… just an amazing dining experience. Not to mention the food is incredible! They bring different kinds of freshly baked bread, all of which is amazing, plus they have a garlic bread appetizer that is TO DIE FOR. So basically, this is a place for bread lovers, like me. I had the tortelloni and it was fantastic, especially with the bread dipped in the sauce . So good. Plus the service was wonderful! The owner was walking around making sure everyone had everything they wanted and we were happy with our meals. 10/10 would come again.

One of the best romantic restaurants to go to in Philly! It is underground and is huge!! The vibe is amazing and the food was excellent, there wasn’t one thing we didn’t like. This is a great place for a date night. Logan was our server and was amazing and made our first time here amazing! Will be making this a new favorite

Amazing service! Our waitress Claudia was perfect! Everything came quickly and food for the most part was great, my only complaint was that the chicken in the chicken parm sandwich could’ve been a little better seasoned. Overall a great experience.
