Amazing service and food. The restaurant manager, Dylan, was extremely attentive to us and knew the taste and origin of every single wine on there very extensive wine list. Our server, Nick, was able to explain the specials with ease. I myself got the red snapper, and it was moist and cooked to perfection. My wife got the bolognese and the portion was so large we were able to take some home for later! Prices are reasonable and service was fast, will definitely be back for more.

We were invited to Giovanni’s on Harding Place for a friend’s birthday dinner, or we would never have gone to a place with such mediocre reviews. Well, the negative reviews were spot-on. The only nicely prepared dish was the fried calamari and I can do that at home. The chicken stuffed with sausage and cheese was their “special” — but it was very dry and almost tasteless. Incredibly expensive — with an appetizer, two entrees and NO alcohol, our bill before tip was $130. Our server was sweet and deserves 4 stars — that’s the only reason this isn’t a 2-star review.

Food was good. The service was fine. I just didn’t think there is a whole lot of value for the money. My pasta dish tasted good and was cooked perfectly. It was just a really small portion for 25 bucks

Very nice dinner. We had the grilled octopus, which was a segment of a tentacle. It’s good to share for two or three. I had the lasagne, which was as good as any in Nashville and better than many. My husband and friend had a seafood with spaghetti that was a special. The tiramisu was wonderful. The service was Very good. It was a little more expensive than I’d expected but worth it. Quiet enough to new able to talk. Well spaced tables. I’d go back.

Entrees were okay but given the price a disappointment. Deserts were somewhat better. Service was slow so I tipped only 13%. Just afterwards, the waiter said my credit card did not go through and took it to run it again. Meanwhile I checked my receipt which had an approval code on it. Seems like he was trying to bill my card twice. Pros: Clean and romantic.

Sadly, this was truly the WORST customer service I’ve ever experienced at a restaurant any where in the world. I’ve own a few restaurants so I’m sensitive to server challenges, but even so there was so simply NO EXCUSE for this treatment. I spoke to the restaurant at 7pm, telling them that we’d be 15 minutes late for our 8pm reservation and we told no problem. So, my date and I arrive last night at 8:15pm and were told “We Close at 9pm”. We order wine, an appetizer, a primi and a secondi. I have an unique problem in that I have severe dysphagia (difficult swallowing, due to cancer radiation treatment), so I asked for a “Carafe of water”. Not one but 4 of the nearby servers were confused as to why I needed it and made a scene that lasted for 5 minutes about simply getting a large container of water to our table, and then proceed to joke about it among themselves within earshot of us. The food was mediocre but my date and I were enthralled in great conversation. Surprisingly the primi and secondi did NOT arrive in any haste that would be associated with a pressing 9pm closing time. Later the waiter announced that “we will be closing the doors at 10pm, so you have 4 minutes”. This was fine because we were about done. I was given the $111 bill, added a $20 tip and we left. On the way to the car, a server mysteriously approach us as we were getting into my car. He said “Nice car”. I said “Thank you”. He said “do you always leave a 5% tip on a hundred bill?!?!?'” Aghast, but with no hesitation, I said “You got the wrong receipt. I left you $20.” and got into my car and left. I can’t believe the audacity of following a customer to complain about a tip, and also being completely wrong and unapologetic. Do NOT under any circumstance ever dine at Giovanni’s in West Meade, Nashville. Instead, dine to Sperry’s, just 1 minute away, as was our original plan (but they were booked that night).

As we sat down a waitress was sitting at the bar near us with NO MASK ON, she sneezed and did not cover her face nor wash her hands. I said to the waiter, I prefer not to sit so close to her. He instantly got an attitude with us and went to the back kitchen. We witnessed the waitress go to the kitchen and as she walked out she loudly said “SNEEZE MUCH”. It was rude for her to say that. Our waiter did not offer to move us so we left due to her ignorant comment and attitude.

Our waiter was great, but the meal and pompous bar flies left something to be desired. My steak was raw, so I thought, “No problem. I’ll eat it tomorrow for lunch.” But then I couldn’t eat it, because half of the entire steak was pure unrendered fat. So gross.
