I recently moved to RVA from NJ and have been searching for General Tso’s Chicken like my fav place back home. This was my 6th place, and so far the best I’ve had. I’m pretty sure they use breast instead of thigh, which I prefer. The chicken is tender and not too crunchy, although it could have been a bit more crisp. The spice level is low, so if you want it spicy (or crispy) make a request when you order. This was by far the most expensive Chinese take out I’ve had, at $16 with only a small container of white rice and 3 pieces of perfectly-cooked brocoli, not raw and not mushy. I picked up a pint of white rice from the spot around the corner for $2, which combines for 2 meals at under $10 each. I can live with that, considering how good the chicken is.

Ginger Red is my favorite restaurant for Chinese Food. They get 5 Stars. The waiters and waitresses are always great, giving people a chance to talk, and always checking back at the right times. I love the Orange Chicken. It is my favorite. They will accommodate you with mild sauce if you like. My wife loves their cashew chicken. Managers of Ginger Red, keep doing what you do. Your food is fantastic and the service is great! 5 Stars all the way!

My wife and I have now dined here 3 times in the past couple months. Asian food is very good and consistent. We’ve ordered the sushi sampler plate with the 3 sushi options from the appetizer menu which is pretty tasty. Pictured are the two chicken menu items we each ordered which were very good. We will dine here again when craving Asian cuisine.

My family and I have eaten inside and take-out numerous times over the years with Ginger Red and unfortunately have seen a decline in quality and taste. We try something new most visits just to see if another dish tastes better than our mediocre typical dishes. We like the atmosphere and convenience of the location. But tonight’s meal was VERY unfortunate to be nice.

Delicious! First time. Will go back. Food served hot and timely. Best crab rangoon I’ve ever eaten. So much food. Brought home as much as we ate. Next time will go to their brunch served on Sunday from 11 to 3. Try different small plates. Not buffet. All food even brunch served from kitchen. Great service. Was busy on Friday but arrived at 5:30 and finished one hour later. Very nice, clean restaurant with a bar. Very popular place.

The food was really good, the atmosphere was great and the service was great as well. But I told the waitress that I was highly allergic to mushrooms she said that they would not put mushrooms in my food. But they did cook the walk with mushrooms before mine and I was highly allergic and was sick for 3 Days afterwards, had welts all over my legs and my back from the allergy.
