This small but amazing cafe was well worth the stop! I felt like we were having lunch at a friend’s house. The owners were so welcoming and friendly. They took great care of us. They also had live music playing in the cafe which made for a fun atmosphere. The food was delicious! I highly recommend the Alban Hill sandwich, the Mediterranean salad and Gilous’ salad. We also enjoyed the crepes and the baguettes.

Oh, I wish that I would have gotten her name! Her food was perfection! I asked her to go off menu with my request of French toast with bananas foster, and a side of bacon. She pleasantly agreed.

Wonderful experience! Food was delicious. I’ve been around the world and still overjoyed that local small town restaurants can serve up culinary pleasures.

Amazing food! Veteran Owned and Operated! Cheap gas across the street, 30 cents less than by the highway.

Small place on the outskirts of Abingdon where the French owner cooks excellent specialties from the south of France while giving her customers extra personal service. Don’t go here if you are in a rush, just relax and enjoy the experience of authentic French dishes lovingly prepared in the mountains of Virginia. You will be glad you did!

A very chill and relaxed cafe. The food portions are a bit smaller than what most people might be used to, but it was delicious. A little warm on the inside due to all the windows, but such a great place to stop for something light.

Excellent breakfast food with FARM EGGS. Delicious food and a nice fresh salad with the omelette. Owner was very friendly and polite and customized our order with a smile. Nice, very clean, and nice atmosphere. Very reasonable cost for breakfast ($10 total for both) and 10% discount if you pay in cash. Will be stopping here every time we pass by on 81!

My mom and I were searching for someplace a little different and boy did we find it! We love Gilous’! We’ve been there twice. First time got burgers with a french touch. Yummy! We liked both choices. Next time mom got another burger and I got the chicken Nicoise ( another winner!) and molten brownie with their delicious coffee. Omgoodness! Can’t wait for the opportunity to go back — I’m gonna try the Savoy!
