Great food, price, and service. The waitress suggested the chicken dinner and cherry pie for desert. Everything was fantastic just like my grandma use to make. The owner came by to check on us. I highly suggested stopping in to this diamond in the rough. I know we will definitely stop back in when we travel that way again.

RUDE waitress! After waiting forever to be spoken to, I was told to sit anywhere. Then I was informed that people were already sitting at my table, but all the other tables were dirty. They finally cleared me a spot and when I wanted to order off the menu I was basically told to eat the breakfast buffet or nothing at all. I relented and had the buffet food which was as old and unhealthly as it looked. This place got 2 stars because the biscuits were amazing and another waitress apologized to me for the bad service she witnessed me receiving.

First time there last night.Great fish and chicken. Loved the salad bar. Hubby had a Philly cheese steak sandwich.said it was pretty good. (Which usually he says it’s alright meaning not impressed lol) Server was pleasant. They all were. It was clean. Hubby wants to try breakfast next.lol. thank you

I gave this restaurant 4 stars only because of their sausage gravy. Since I usually eat breakfast there than any other meal it’s the breakfast buffet that I really love except for the sausage gravy. Why you ask… Because it is sweet and in my opinion biscuits and gravy is NOT supposed to be sweet. If someone thinks they are being innovative and creative by putting sugar in the sausage gravy….STOP IT!!! If not for the sweet sausage gravy I would have given Gilmore’s family restaurant 5 stars because the service and the rest if the food is top notch good home cook’n. One more time…..please stop making sweet sausage gravy….PLEASE!!!

We visited this location after visiting Lincoln’s New Salem. They have a very friendly and professional service staff, the food was very good! We went with a menu item feather then buffet, all food was served perfect and tasted very good.

Of the few places to eat in Petersburg, IL this one is consistently consistent! Won’t be the best food you’ve ever had, won’t be the nicest place you’ve ever been. But the servers are good, honest, polite folks. Salt of the earth, exactly what I look forward to when I visit the in-laws in central IL. A place where manners and being a good neighbor are still more important than the car you drive or the size if your wallet. Try the pies too, the French silk is hard to forget.

We have very tasty breakfast here, with excellent service! Especially loved the American fries with gravy at breakfast. Veggie omelette was very tasty, and we love the homemade bread.
